Getting Ready for "Take a Shot at Changing the World" 2013:

Steeltown Entertainment Project's Take a Shot at Changing the World is a viral video contest and digital media initiative that asks middle and high school students to make movies that make a difference. We are giving away $10,000 to students whose films tell stories about people and movements that changed the world, and how they are insp

ired to act. Join us on Sunday at 11:00 AM at the Heinz History Center for Pittsburgh's Teen Oscar Party with a free filmmaking workshop. Come find out more about the contest and how to get your school involved! Take a Shot is excited to announce a new partnership with Voices of a People's History, which brings to life the stories of the lesser-known people and the movements that built the United States. This year's Take a Shot asks YOU to create movies about the extraordinary moments when ordinary people used their voices to change the course of history and work towards a more just, equal, and peaceful world. Find out about this year's NEW competition category! Take a Shot categories include:

The People Speak
Pittsburgh Innovation
Polio: Then and Now

This year also features special prizes for films focusing on the environment and on non-violence. The choice is yours. Inspire. Go to www.takaeshotcontest.org for more.
