We are excited to announce our scholarship and work-trade opportunities for PittStop 2026! Our goal for our scholarship program is to:

(1) make PittStop an accessible event, regardless of dancers' financial situation
(2) promote diversity within the swing dance community,
(3) support, welcome, and encourage new dancers
(4) support staffing needs at PittStop.

Tonight, Wednesday September 2nd - Paul Cosentino's Boilermaker Jazz Band will be swingin' for the Pittsburgh Swing Dance Community (PSDC) at the Wilkins Community. Dance lesson at 7pm and live music 8pm- 10pm. Completely free!

Thursday, September 3rd - Paul Cosentino's Boilermaker Jazz Band will BRING the SWING to Golden Age B**r, Homestead, PA from 6 to 9pm! All are welcome! All ages! Absolutely free!

Friday, September 4th - Chelsea Reed Music and the Fair Weather Band from Philadelphia will play a mixed swing and Blues night sponsored by PSDC and Blues Fusion Forge at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Dithridge St. Lesson at 7 and dancing 7:30 - 10:30pm. $25 for the night (lesson included.) You can pre-purchase tickets online via PSDC - www.pittsburghswingdance.com

Saturday, September 5th - Enjoy Paul Cosentino's Boilermaker Jazz Band (with Grace Elliott) as part of the Golden Age Jazz Fest at Golden Age B**r 3:30 - 6:30pm. There are other bands playing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (including BMJB pianist Antonio Croes,) but this is one of the highlights! The festival is free!

Sunday, September 6th - Enjoy the Paul Cosentino 's 14 Piece Swing Orchestra as part of the Golden Age Jazz Fest at Golden Age B**r 4 to 7pm! Come check a big band in our backyard! Completely free to all! Come early to grab a seat!

Housing is only available to full-weekend attendees and is on a first come, first served basis!

Register early to be higher on the list!

The number of hosts we get drops every year. If we don’t have enough spaces available, those who haven’t gotten a housing assignment will be put on the waitlist.
That being said, we haven't had to turn anyone away for the past 16 years... but don't use that as an excuse to increase my blood pressure.

DJ Om Choudhary discovered his passion for blues dance in 2010 in Pittsburgh and began spinning blues tunes in 2012. With a profound devotion to blues music, Om believes that music is the purest form of emotional expression. His DJ sets are inspired by local blues artists, live musicians, and the vibrant energy of dancers on the floor.

Om’s love for blues dance is rooted in its rich history and expressive movements. He finds joy in the connection and communication that blues dancers foster, and his DJ sets aim to create an environment where dancers can fully immerse themselves in the music. Om has DJed at numerous events and workshops, specializing in Slow Drag, slow Jazz, Delta blues, Chicago style blues, and more. Beyond blues, Om enjoys dancing to Bhangra and Bollywood music, and has cherished his love for folk Rajasthani music for over 22 years.

Omar has been collecting music for Blues, Swing, and Soul for most of his life. It wasn't until after he started Lindy Hop did he decide to start getting people to dance. He began DJing in 2010. Since then, he has left-clicked tunes all over the world, in such locations as, Barcelona, Stockholm, and Seoul. Currently, he is a regular DJ…somewhere….

Introducing DJ Kate Holden (she/her)

Kate’s DJing career began ten years ago with her college scene at the University of Delaware. She has since DJ’d for national events and local scenes alike.

As the DJ Coordinator for Jazz Attack in Philadelphia, her favorite part of the job is ensuring that every social dance is filled with stellar tunes that get everyone swinging out.

Kate brings enthusiasm and energy to every event and hopes you’re as excited to hear her sets as she is to play them!
