Arts Greenhouse is an arts and humanities education initiative from Carnegie Mellon University that

At Arts Greenhouse we believe that expanding student engagement in the arts and humanities beyond what they already encounter in the classroom helps create well-informed, intelligent and involved citizens. We see the arts and humanities as the manifestation of human agency and autonomy in the world. These disciplines are the way human beings understand their individual and collective relationship

to history, culture, identity, community and social circumstances. Through increased self-awareness and intentionality, young adults can approach the arts and humanities with a greater appreciation for the diverse values and perspectives that creative works represent, which inherently leads to a greater appreciation for the diversity that make up our planet.

Our students are back at it! They are making abstract watercolor paintings come to life as monsters! Not only are they drawing, they are writing crazy stories that describe a scene their monster is in and what it's doing.

Watch out! Monsters on the loose! Well, they'll become monsters as soon as the students bring them to life through drawing and stories. Hannah is using watercolor to make abstract shapes for the middle schoolers to use as an base for their monsters.
