OUT OF BOUNDS is a faith-based program for girls offering alternatives to “the streets” and the juvenile justice system, which is designed to deal with boys. This gender specific program promotes holistic growth in all areas from helping girls acquire positive self-image to collaborating with families, schools, and communities to provide a network of support and healthy relationships. Our mission
is to give adolescent girls ages 11-18 the power to reach their full potential by developing healthy attitudes, behaviors, and lifestyles through comprehensive, gender-specific programming, experiences, and relationships. Our strengths-based approach to programming provides an opportunity for girls to develop a comprehensive understanding of what their individual needs are, how risk factors have influenced their everyday choices, and how their issues have affected relationship building with others. Our programs are designed to meet the developmental, environmental, and educational constructs that aid in shaping who they are while recognizing whose they are and the destiny they will come to inherit once equipped with the appropriate tools for living a full and healthy life. Our vision is that girls will experience a holistic transformation of emotional, physical, behavioral, and spiritual well-being. They will transition into womanhood with a renewed sense of self-worth and become self-sufficient members of, and role models for their communities. OUT OF BOUNDS is committed to the health, welfare, and well-being of the girls we serve. We understand that meeting the girls “where they are” is crucial to success of our program and that change is a process.
