Yesterday, we were delighted to partner with UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics' Squirrel Hill team for a drive-through flu vaccine clinic, opening our parking lot to welcome children and families taking proactive steps to protect their health this flu season.

Even the rain couldn't stop the dedicated CCP team from making a difference! We're grateful to support community partners who share our commitment to helping children and families stay healthy. Together, we're building a healthier, stronger community!

We are excited to welcome Dr. Sydur Rahman
to The Children's Institute!

Dr. Rahman joined our team on October 6 as our new Medical Director of Behavioral Health, bringing extensive expertise in pediatric medicine, behavioral health, psychotherapy, education, and multidisciplinary care. He is a board-certified pediatrician and psychiatrist with specialized training in child and adolescent psychiatry.

As part of our Behavioral Health leadership team, Dr. Rahman will help advance our commitment to providing innovative, integrated, and accessible behavioral health care for children, youth, and families.

Dr. Rahman is accepting referrals for new psychiatry patients ages 3 to 21. Call today to learn more about appointments and availability.

Our therapy gym at our Bridgeville location now has a new adapted rock wall, designed to support clients of all abilities as they build strength, balance, coordination, and confidence while working toward their therapy goals.

With their therapists by their side, our clients work toward their goals, turning each step and reach into a moment worth celebrating.

Kamin Science Center is making science more accessible with Sensory-Friendly Hours from 9 a.m. to noon on select Sundays. These special hours include sensory accommodations designed to make the experience more comfortable for visitors of all ages.

This National Rehabilitation Awareness Week, we celebrate our Physical Health team in Outpatient and The Day School, along with the children and young adults they support as they build strength, develop skills and work toward their goals with specialized care, support and innovative equipment.

This summer, our Occupational and Physical Therapists collaborated with students and educators from Wi******er Thurston School through Access: Innovation, an immersive camp focused on human-centered design, accessibility, and 3D printing.

Students explored accessibility barriers and created innovative solutions to help make everyday activities more accessible and inclusive.

One week ago, we welcomed our students back to The Day School for a new school year!

From stepping off the buses and walking through our doors to settling into their classrooms, it’s been wonderful seeing our students reconnect with friends, meet their teachers, and get ready for a year filled with learning, growth, and fun.
