McCandless Swimming Club has PuraVida Bracelets, with a selection of three bracelets for sale.

We have a black and gold original bracelet for our proud North Allegheny and Pittsburgh residents.

We have a beautiful blue, teal and white original bracelet for those who want the pool to never close or the summer to never end.

And finally we have a braided bracelet with various shades of blue for the die hard summer lovers.

The Original Bracelets are $6/piece and the braided is $8/piece.

Message from the MSC President:

At the moment all three pool heaters are not working. Our pool operating contractor took a look at them this week, and they are so corroded they are unsafe to light and need to be replaced. I am awaiting an estimate on the cost of replacing the units. Please understand it might be tough to get this work done before the end of the season with only a couple of weeks left. Just like in other areas, supply lines for pool products are stretched this summer due to the pandemic. The pool is completely safe to swim in without the heaters working. It has no effect on the chemicals used to treat the water. This just so happened to coincide with a stretch of nights getting down in the 50’s (obviously heating the water wasn’t a problem when we were consistently in the mid 90’s during the day and low’s in the 80’s at night).

Also, the baby pool has a leak in the return line (you might have noticed the word “Leak” spray painted on the concrete deck). We are in the process of getting that repaired. Again, that might not happen before the end of the season.

Both of these projects will have significant cost. Our budget was already going to be stretched thin this summer due to reducing dues for a shortened season, allowing stockholders to sit out this year, no guest passes/parties, etc. And that was if nothing broke down during the summer. We as a Board will find a way to make these repairs happen, as they are necessary. Please consider helping your club out by supporting our fundraisers (Zroni rolls, Movie Nights, etc.). We are looking into additional income streams such as advertisements on the fence as well as other ideas going forward next season to help generate funds for the club.
