8th grade students from Clairton attended Pennsylvania Creates at AI Horizons on Friday. This was a large gathering of students and professionals from education and AI industries. Students were included in discussions about responsible AI use and participated in a collaborative project to come up with a mascot for the state of Pennsylvania. Their answers were submitted into Gemini to come up with a mascot that encompassed all of PA!

Last week, the Will Allen Foundation sponsored Clairton City School District's Back-to-School Information Day, bringing together service providers and community organizations to welcome students and get them ready for the year ahead! 🎒

WAF provided food for attendees, teachers, and staff, along with backpacks, hygiene kits, school supplies, and socks for students in need. We also shared info on upcoming programming including our robotics team and afterschool program, so families know what's next for their kids.

As summer winds down, we couldn't be more excited for the new school year. Here's to a strong start for every student! 🧡

Week four of “Best Summer Yet” camp was packed with new friends and outdoor fun!

🐴 The kids loved meeting Equine Officer Jimbo along with Officer Bobbie and Sergeant Jason!
🔥 Our friends from Venture Outdoors helped us roast s'mores and get creative making tie dye shirts.
🛝 Campers also had fun on the playground and in the gym.
🎣 We headed out to Peter's Creek in Jefferson for some creek stomping and fishing!
🧘 To top it off, Brynn's mom joined us to teach yoga.
