🌸🌼 Service, fellowship, and sunshine made for a wonderful day at the Little Sisters of the Poor Flower Planting event! 🌼🌸

A huge thank you to all of the ND Club of Pittsburgh volunteers who spent their time helping beautify the grounds and create a welcoming environment for the residents. Your hard work and dedication truly made a difference.

The Little Sisters of the Poor have a remarkable mission of serving the elderly poor with dignity, compassion, and respect, providing a loving home where residents are cared for as family. We are grateful for the opportunity to support their ministry and contribute to the warm, vibrant community they have built here in Pittsburgh.

Special thanks to Tom Kennedy for coordinating this meaningful volunteer event and bringing our Notre Dame community together in service.

We are proud to put our faith and values into action while supporting organizations that make such a positive impact in our city. ☘️

🌸Flower Planting Day at Little Sisters of the Poor! 🌸

We’re excited to be back tomorrow, Saturday, May 30, for our annual flower planting at Little Sisters of the Poor!

⏰ Schedule: 9:00 AM – Noon
🍕 Pizza lunch afterward for anyone who would like to stay and enjoy some fellowship.

Last year was an incredible success thanks to everyone who showed up ready to work—and who generously brought flowers to help beautify the grounds. This year, the Sisters have received some donated flowers, but we could still use more. If you’re able, please consider bringing a flat or two of deer-resistant flowers such as vinca or lantana.

🌼 All ages are welcome—including kids!
🧤 Please bring gardening tools, buckets, work gloves, and perhaps knee pads.
💧 The Sisters will provide cold water.
☔ We plan to work rain or shine, as long as the weather cooperates.

If you can attend, please let us know so we can get a headcount. If you’ve already confirmed, no need to respond again. Even if you don’t RSVP, you’re still welcome to join us!
📧 RSVP to Tom Kennedy at [email protected]
📱 Please also send a cell phone number so we can contact you in the event of a last-minute cancellation.

Come help us make the grounds beautiful while serving the Sisters and enjoying a morning of community together! 🌺❤️

Residents of Pittsburgh Mercy/Bethlehem Haven ( ), our valued Club partner, recently enjoyed a relaxing and creative Zentangle Art Workshop! 🎨✨

A special thank you to our instructor, Wendy, who shared how the process of drawing “tangles” helps create the “zen.” Taking time to step away from stress and the busyness of daily life through art can be a powerful way to relax, recharge, and regenerate.

We’re grateful for opportunities that inspire creativity, mindfulness, and connection within our community. 💙

Our Club was proud to recognize three outstanding alumni with our “Force for Good” Awards at Friday evening’s Club Appreciation Dinner.

Congratulations to Kevin Hofmann ‘95, Alicia Avick ‘01, and Jeff Milligan ‘01 for their many years of generous service and leadership.

Kevin has been a dedicated supporter of the Club since graduation, serving in numerous roles including Past President, Finance Committee, Scholarship Committee, Advisory Committee, and Communion Breakfast Coordinator. His steady leadership and commitment have helped strengthen our Club for generations of members.

Jeff and Alicia have led and expanded our Christmas gift collection program supporting children and families in underserved areas of Appalachia for many years. Through their compassion, organization, and dedication, thousands of people have been helped.

We also want to recognize and thank the spouses and families of our honorees, whose support makes this service possible.

Special thanks to Kerry and Bill Boehner for graciously opening their home for this wonderful evening, and to Tom Kennedy and Karen Boston for helping make the Club Celebration such a success.

Congratulations again to our honorees for truly being a Force for Good!

A cold 33-degree morning in May made the inside of St. Margaret of Scotland Church especially inviting for our monthly Mass Meet Up. Fr. Dan Maurer, our celebrant, along with a full house of worshipers, enjoyed praying and singing together. 🙏🏻☘️

The University of Notre Dame Club of Pittsburgh was proud to take part in the Global Day of Service! 💚

Our group had a great time cleaning classrooms at Mt. Nazareth Learning Center, a childcare center serving children from infants through Pre-K and operated by the Sisters of Holy Family Institute. From scrubbing floors to washing windows and wiping down every table, chair, and surface, it was a meaningful day of service and community.

A special thank you to our Club President, Karen Boston, and Sr. Linda Yankoski for coordinating such a wonderful effort. And thank you to all the alumni, family, and friends who showed up ready to serve!
