Some nights felt endless.
Jenna said she spent months wondering what she was doing wrong because her baby woke often at night. Friends talked about strict schedules and “good sleepers,” but her reality looked very different. There were nights spent pacing the hallway, nursing in the dark, and wondering if anyone else was this exhausted too.

Then one day at an LLL meeting, another parent quietly said:
“Mine still wakes a lot too.”

That simple moment changed everything. She realized she wasn’t alone, and her baby wasn’t broken.

Sleep can bring up so many emotions, questions, and expectations.

What has your sleep journey looked like?
What surprised you most about infant or toddler sleep?

Share your story in the comments. Your experience might help another parent feel less alone tonight.

Alcohol is present in your milk at the same level as in your blood, and rises and falls along with it. If you know your blood alcohol level, you know your milk alcohol level. However, babies don't metabolize alcohol nearly as well as adults do, and when youths alcohol in the milk they seem to take less milk than they would otherwise. Combine that with the lowed milk release that can result from alcohol, and your supply and your baby's growth can be compromised if you drink substantial amounts regularly. A beer or glass of wine a couple of times a week is unlikely to matter, and the effects decrease as your baby gets older.

Wondering if your baby is full after feeding?
Look for these signs of a satisfied little one: open hands, relaxed arms, turning away, looking content, or drifting off to sleep.

Babies are great at letting us know when they’ve had enough—trust their cues (and your instincts!).

You’re doing beautifully.

For many, Juneteenth is a day of jubilee that extends to the reclaiming of bodily self-determination. Freedom meant the ability to decide when to have children, how to raise them, and the fundamental right to breastfeed them without interference.

This Juneteenth, we honor the generations of Black mothers and families whose caregiving, resilience, and love endured through slavery and beyond.
