One of the organizations that we have supported financially with the contributions of people like you is the Museum of Free Derry. This Museum flourished because it was truly a grassroots, David vs. Goliath mighty effort of ordinary people who wanted to stand up to an Empire and wanted to be sure their story was told in their words. The power of that story has resonated and its location draws people from all over the world to pay witness to the justice and power of their struggle. Let's maintain that legacy with continued support.

The Museum of Free Derry is a key economic driver in the city. Last year we had 42,295 visitors with an £8m investment into Derry with people staying locally. That will be exceeded this year ! The story of our resilience , struggle for truth, justice and equality is a key reason why people come. The story cannot be ignored!
I'm super proud of our team who make all of this happen!

Onwards and Upwards!

Father Des Wilson saw so much potential and good in many communities that were scarred by the turmoil and violence of "the Troubles" in the north. We are proud as Conway Mill Trust supporters to carry on the legacy of his vision.

The Museum of Free Derry is one of many organizations that the Conway Mill Trust supports in the North of Ireland. This is a must see museum in Derry/Londonderry. The museum seeks opportunities to make the experience and tragedy of Bloody Sunday relevant to current events developing in the North. This is is one of those opportunities.

Reminder for fantastic event next month at Museum of Free Derry.

One of the organizations that the Conway Mill Trust supports is the Museum of Free Derry which attentively documents the history of the civil rights struggle that began in the late 60s in Derry. This era was a pivotal moment in the history in the north of Ireland. The Museum of Free Derry enables the area's young people to learn and experience this history in a non-threatening, welcome to all manner. The museum is a must-see spot if you visit Derry.

Congratulations and thank you to Foyle College's Year 14 History class who recently completed the Bloody Sunday Trust Youth Engagement Programme.

As part of this programme, the students completed an OCN Certificate in Community Independence and created fantastic collages on a local history issue of their choice.

They also heard from a number of speakers about different aspects of local history, including LGBTQ+ rights, the Shirt Factories of Derry, Bloody Sunday and legacy issues surrounding the Troubles. It was a pleasure to host them for a visit to the Museum of Free Derry too.

They really are a wonderful bunch of students. Good luck to them all in their upcoming exams and we look forward to our interschools Youth Conference in June!

✨The future of the city is bright! ✨

Father Des Wilson was instrumental in the establishment of the Conway Education Centre and Springhill Community house, both in Belfast, as well as other organizations that Conway Mill Trust and our contributors continue to support. It would be great if this documentary came to the U.S. soon, so that more people can learn about the inspiring life and legacy of this humble servant/leader.
