Fellow Friends of the Music Library,

We wish you a wonderful winter holiday season! ☃

Friends of the Music Library would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported the Music Library and the Friends over the past year; we are more grateful for your contributions than can be explained.

And, though the date is still TBD, we are planning to hold the Music Sale next year. Keep your eyes peeled for more details!

Hello, fellow Friends of the Music Library! Looking for something to do in the month of August? Come to CLP-Main and visit the Music Department! Here are our upcoming events:

🎹 Gadget Playground on Sunday, August 3 from 1:30 - 3 PM.
Join us each month for an event focused on electronic music production, featuring guest speakers, performances and instruments on display. Afterwards, explore our collection of over 50 circulating items. This program takes place in the North Wing Music Room on the 2nd floor.

🎺 Jazz LP Listening Session from Our Pittsburgh Collection on Sunday, August 10 from 1 - 2 PM.
Enjoy choice cuts from the deep legacy of Pittsburgh jazz recordings. This program takes place in the North Wing Music Room.

🌲 Album Listening Club: Taylor Swift's Folklore on Saturday, August 23 from 1 - 2 PM.
Like a book club, but for music! We’ll play tracks, discuss history, what we like and don’t, and more. This month, we will be discussing Folklore by Taylor Swift. Held in the North Wing Music Room.

🎼 And don't forget the upcoming MUSIC SALE! Though the date is still TBA, the Friends of the Music Library is currently accepting donations of printed music, music books, and CDs. Like a book club, but for music! We’ll play tracks, discuss history, what we like and don’t, and more. This month, we will be discussing Tapestry by Carole King. Held in the North Wing Music Room.

🎹 Gadget Playground on Sunday, July 6 from 1:30 - 3 PM.
Explore the Music Department’s musical gadgets, share your skills with fellow electronic music enthusiasts, and learn from Richard Nicol, Founder and Lead Instrument Designer at Pittsburgh Modular Synthesizers. This program takes place in the North Wing Music Room.

This Summer is shaping up to be a musical season at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh! Let's get it started off right with these upcoming events at our libraries:

With more pieces set to enter circulation ~soon~, stop in and experience the magic of electronic music-making for yourself! 🎶🎹🎧
