Another month, another great meeting of the Crawford County Community Coalition.

This morning, we heard a presentation from CORE Community, Crawford County, about their Poverty Simulation and their "Getting Ahead in a Just Getting By World classes. Safehouse Crisis Center, Inc. presented on their Domestic Violence Awareness Month events.

It's always so great to hear what is going on in Crawford County!

It gives us a glimpse of what we are working toward right here in Crawford County!

Our Core Community will begin classes in May 2027, helping individuals and families build practical skills, stronger support systems, and connections that can help break down barriers and create new opportunities.

We’re just getting started—building partnerships, raising support, and preparing for our Community Poverty Simulation.

What Bourbon County has built gives us a picture of what’s possible! ❤️

💙 We’re halfway through September!

Crawford County Core Community is raising funds for a Community Poverty Simulation and Core Community classes beginning in May 2027.

A poverty simulation gives participants an opportunity to experience some of the difficult choices and barriers that families living in poverty face, often through no fault of their own. By walking in someone else’s shoes, we can begin to see poverty differently and discover ways our community can come together to help.
Core Community Classes will start May 2027!

🌟 SEPTEMBER FUNDRAISING EVENT 🌟

September 1–30, 2026

Crawford County Core Community is raising support for a Community Poverty Simulation an interactive experience designed to encourage meaningful conversations about poverty and strengthen our community’s response to families experiencing it.

The simulation will help participants better understand the difficult choices, barriers, and pressures families may face while trying to meet basic needs. It reflects a central Bridges Out of Poverty principle: poverty is more than a lack of money.
Lasting stability also requires resources, supportive relationships, knowledge, opportunities, and connections within the community.

Our goal is to build understanding, reduce judgment, and inspire individuals, churches, businesses, organizations, and community leaders to become involved.

This event will help build the social capital and community partnerships needed to support Crawford County’s first Core Community class in 2027.
Together, we can help families develop resources, form meaningful relationships, and create pathways toward lasting stability.

Every gift helps us prepare Crawford County to respond with greater understanding, collaboration, and hope.
