Bledsoe County Rescue Squad Weekend Update
This past weekend our all-volunteer crew responded to 3 calls in Bledsoe County. We take every call seriously and respond quickly and carefully — even when they turn out to be non-emergencies.
Here's a quick rundown:
Friday afternoon: Dispatched to an automatic 911 call from a phone. About 3/4 of the way there, we learned the phone had simply fallen off a vehicle.
Early Saturday morning (just after midnight): A woman and her dog were stuck on the side of the river. Our volunteers, working alongside the Volunteer Fire Department, safely retrieved both the woman and her dog, brought them to the medics, and got them back to safety.
Saturday night: Dispatched again on a phone alert (possibly Life360). After driving 20–30 minutes into an area with no cell service, we confirmed it was another dropped phone.
False alarms like these are common, but we never hesitate — because the one time it’s real, every minute counts.
