Every day, we ask ourselves the same question: why is Peaches still here?
She’s affectionate. She’s gentle. She’s easygoing. She loves people. She’ll sit on your shoulder, curl up in your lap, and follow you around just to be near you. She even has an adorable obsession with drinking water straight from the sink.
At 10–12 years old, Peaches has already been through more than her fair share. After landing on the euthanasia list at ACCT, she was pulled by PURR and placed in a foster home. Unfortunately, the placement wasn’t the right fit, and she returned to the cafe. Since then, she’s been happily living in our back room, where she’s proven that she does just fine having her own space.
In fact, while putting together this spotlight, it was surprisingly difficult to get good videos of her because all she wanted to do was climb onto me, sit on my shoulder, and demand attention. That’s Peaches in a nutshell. If there’s a human nearby, she wants to be as close as possible.
The reason she’s still searching? Peaches doesn’t get along with other cats and would need to be the only cat in the home, or ideally the only pet. But for the right person, that’s a very small trade-off for a cat who gives so much love in return.
Peaches is ready to spend her golden years being someone’s best friend. We just need to find the person who’s been waiting for her.
You can meet Peaches at PURR Cat Cafe or apply through our website link below, also found in our Instagram bio.
