We congratulate our union members at Philadelphia’s Fabric Workshop & Museum The Fabric Workshop and Museum on unanimously ratifying their first union contract. This contract sets a new standard in our union as the first to come from voluntary recognition and fastest to be negotiated, the result of a respectful and cooperative spirit from management throughout the process.

Contract highlights include:
Creation of a transparent pay system including longevity pay to reward years of service
Average raises of 7% upon contract ratification
Immediate increase of at least 6.25% to the lowest bargaining unit pay rates
Guaranteed annual 3% raises in 2027 and 2028
Priority hiring of internal candidates to fill bargaining unit vacancies
Increase to sick time accrual rates and improvements to PTO
Establishment of a professional development program for FWM staff

🥳🥳Voluntary Recognition for Atelier Fine Art Services Union!

Joint statement: Atelier Fine Art Services and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, District Council 47, Local 397, AFL-CIO (AFSCME) are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement for a voluntary recognition process of a staff union at Atelier Fine Art Services. Atelier Fine Art Services and AFSCME have engaged in productive and positive conversations resulting in the voluntary recognition process and reflecting the common goal of fostering a collaborative, transparent, and respectful workplace.

Under this agreement, the Union will have the opportunity to demonstrate to a neutral third party that the majority of eligible Atelier Fine Art Services’ employees support joining Local 397. This process, called a “card check,” will allow the Union and Employer to move forward expeditiously with negotiations for a collective bargaining agreement. Both parties are committed to ensuring that this process is conducted fairly and centers the best interests of employees and the workplace as a whole…

Update on Atelier Fine Art Services Union:
We announced our unionization and requested voluntary recognition of our union on May 6.

Over ten days later and we’re still waiting on Management’s response.
