The 4th Disability Chamber of Commerce in the nation promotes inclusive employment opportunities.

The Disability Chamber of Commerce RGV is the 4th cross-disability chamber of commerce in the nation! It is a regional South Texas chamber that provides disability-friendly employers in the Rio Grande Valley with educational workshops, networking events, corporate training and easy access to available resources so that they can provide meaningful, dignified, integrative employment opportunities to individuals with different abilities. The mission of DCC-RGV is to support local businesses via the promotion of inclusive hiring best practices, fostering collaboration, and promoting economic growth for the Cross-Disability

The Road to Adulthood: A Team Sport | Plated Lunch Panel

Preparing for adulthood takes more than an IEP. It takes a team, informed decisions, and a plan for life beyond the classroom.

Join us for an engaging lunch panel at the Disability Chamber of Commerce RGV’s Legal Pathways to Adulthood for Texans with Disabilities conference.

Hear from professionals, educators, and advocates as they share perspectives on navigating the transition to adulthood, building independence, understanding legal rights, and connecting individuals with disabilities and their families to the resources and supports they need for the journey ahead.

Thank you to the PSJA Special Education Department and Texas Parent to Parent for inviting our Executive Director to present “Beyond the IEP: Preparing for Life” at today’s annual conference!

We are grateful for the opportunity to share with families and educators the importance of preparing our loved ones with disabilities for life beyond the classroom, including independence, self-advocacy, life skills, and the transition to adulthood.

FREE CONFERENCE FOR CAREGIVERS: DHR Health’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital will host its 13th Annual Circle of Care Caregivers Conference on November 7, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance.

Held in honor of National Family Caregivers Month, this event is free and open to the public, however; attendees are encouraged to register in advance by calling (956) 362-3550.
