What a beautiful evening today at the IDEA Public Schools THRIVE Dinner and Award Night celebrating their graduates and end of year achievements.

We were incredibly impressed by the certifications, accomplishments, and milestones these graduates have achieved. Programs like THRIVE are making a meaningful impact by preparing students for independence, vocational excellence, and future opportunities.

We are grateful for our continued partnership with transition programs like this one and are happy to play a small part in supporting their future. We love seeing IDEA Public Schools students attend our RGV H.I.R.E.S. inclusive job fairs, and we are proud that many past Disability Chamber of Commerce RGV ADA Scholarship recipients have come from IDEA Public Schools.

It is always a privilege to stand side by side with community partners who are doing wonderful work to elevate and empower the disability community. Thank Thrive team for giving us the honor to pass out awards and congratulate each one of them.🎉

We are honored and deeply grateful to be selected as a recipient of the Texas Bar Foundation’s 2026 grant cycle.

This support will help the Disability Chamber of Commerce Rio Grande Valley launch "Legal Pathways to Adulthood for Texans with Disabilities Under Texas Law,"
a community education initiative designed to help families better understand guardianship, supported decision-making, powers of attorney, and other important legal options for adults with disabilities.

Through bilingual educational materials, community seminars, a conference and partnerships with regional school districts and legal professionals, this project will provide families with clear, accessible information so they can make informed decisions with confidence, dignity, and clarity.

Since its inception in 1965, the Texas Bar Foundation has awarded more than $30 million in grants to law-related programs across Texas. Supported by members of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar Foundation is the nation’s largest charitably funded bar foundation.

We are thankful to be part of a broader community investing in education, access, advocacy, and stronger systems of support for Texans with disabilities and their families. 🤍
