We proudly celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of our PSJA Southwest High School Boys Track & Field athletes at the AREA Track & Field Championship, held this past Saturday, April 18, 2026, at PSJA ISD Stadium.

* AJ Arevalo delivered a powerful performance in the 400 Meter Dash, earning 2nd place and securing his spot at the UiL Region IV Track & Field Championships to be held at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio, Texas from May 01-02, 2026.

Joining him at Regionals is our 4x400 Meter Relay Team, which also captured 2nd place at the AREA meet and advanced
to the next level. This relay team is composed of:
• Raymond Purselley
• Raul Garza
• AJ Arevalo
• Xavier Saenz

These athletes have demonstrated perseverance, teamwork, and Javelina pride while competing against top talent from across the area/valley. Their success reflects the dedication and commitment of our student-athletes, coaching staff, and the strong support of our PSJA Southwest community. This achievement would not be possible without the guidance and encouragement of our teachers, who work every day to ensure these young men succeed not only on the track, but in the classroom as well.

To our educators who support, mentor, motivate, and hold our athletes accountable Thank You for the role you play in shaping well-rounded students and champions. Your impact extends far beyond the school day.
