Every Friday, a Backpack Friends campus partner quietly slips a bag of food into a child's backpack before the weekend bell rings. No announcement, no attention drawn — just enough to make sure that child has something to eat until they return on Monday.

That's the moment the Heroes Against Hunger 5K funds. Not a statistic — a Friday afternoon, repeated for thousands of kids across the area, week after week.

On September 19, every step in our 5K keeps those Fridays going.
