Meaningful educational change begins with curiosity, reflection, and a willingness to see familiar practices in new ways.

This summer, we're offering two online intensives for educators and community members seeking to deepen their understanding of equity and cultural responsiveness in Waldorf education.

Through two of this year's development courses, Developing Capacities for Decolonizing and Teaching for Black Lives in Waldorf Schools, participants will explore how curriculum, teaching practices, and educational purpose can be reimagined to better serve all students.

Join us for thoughtful conversation, practical tools, and collaborative learning as we work toward more inclusive and transformative educational experiences.

Before we can lead others, we must develop the capacity to lead ourselves.

The New Leaders Academy is a year-long, university-level leadership development program designed for emerging and mid-career leaders seeking to cultivate grounded, resilient, and adaptive leadership practices.

Through a combination of immersive in-person learning, ongoing virtual instruction, reflective inquiry, and collaborative problem-solving, participants engage leadership as both an inner discipline and a community-centered practice.

Led by Kim Richardson, the program brings together leadership frameworks, systems thinking, embodied learning, and values-driven practice to support leaders in meeting the complex challenges of today's educational and organizational environments.

What does it mean to “decolonize” the middle school social studies curriculum? How can we thoughtfully reimagine what and how we teach in grades 6-8?

Join instructor Simone Shurney for a three-day online intensive exploring new possibilities for Waldorf social studies education through reflection, dialogue, curriculum analysis, and inner work.

Developing Capacities for Decolonizing invites teachers, pedagogical leaders, curriculum coordinators, and community members into a collaborative exploration of reframing curriculum with greater depth, truthfulness, and relevance for today’s students.

Together, participants will explore:
• Shared language and definitions around decolonization and eurocentrism in education
• Reexamining Waldorf curriculum indications and instructional practices for grades 6–8
• Personal development practices that support reimagination, truth-telling, and meaningful integration of change

Registration is now open through Great Lakes Waldorf Institute.
