About a week ago, the Islamic Food Bank of Toledo hosted its first ever Fall Gala, which was a success Alhamdulillah.

Part of our success is due to the gracious donors of our silent auction items! These businesses and organizations donated these items to benefit the Islamic Food Bank of Toledo, and we pray that Allah (SWT) blesses them tenfold!

On November 15, 2025, the Islamic Food Bank of Toledo hosted its first ever Fall Gala and it was truly a night to remember. Connections were made, a beautiful dinner was enjoyed, and community members pledged their support towards the Islamic Food Bank of Toledo. May Allah (SWT) reward each and every supporter at the Fall Gala and increase them in good deeds. With their support, we raised $130,000, making a significant impact in the face of funding cuts on our ability to provide food for everyone who needs it.

Want an inside look into our upcoming Fall Gala on November 15? Read below to learn more about our guest speaker!

Dr. Shannon Orr is Professor of Political Science at Bowling Green State University and the Director of the Falcon Food Pantry. Her research is broadly focused on two areas: stakeholder participation in public policy, and capacity building for non-profit organizations. Her current research is focused specifically on food insecurity and food pantry operations.

She is the author of two books, and has published in Policy Studies Journal, State and Local Government Review, American Review of Politics, Journal of Natural Resources Policy, American Journal of Evaluation, Public Opinion Quarterly, PS: Political Science and Politics, among others.
