Footprints Center for Autism is an Ohio based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational and therapeutic services to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, collaborative, and child-centered programming for individuals with autism in a positive and non-restrictive learning environment so that each child can reach their highest potential and achieve excellence in all aspects of life. Our services will include special education, speech therapy services, occupational therapy services, aide services, parent/professional collaboration opportunities, etc. We became officially incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the state of Ohio in August of 2017 and announced our organization on December 1, 2017. Why open a treatment center? The answer is simple. In each of us, there is an irreplacable spark that is ignited by this field of work. Each individual we've worked with has left his or her footprints on our hearts, and has impacted our lives for the better. Students and patients have come and gone, but are far from forgotten. These children have taught us how to change our perspective, how to celebrate small victories, how to find joy and laughter even in hard times, and how to unconditionally show love and have compassion for all people. Our greatest hope is to take what we've learned from these individuals and create a learning environment that is safe, joyful, and loving- an environment that allows each child to be successful, to learn at his or her own pace, and to feel confident in what they do as they leave their own set of footprints on our hearts and on the world. 🍂❤️ Happy Friday👣

There’s something so special about watching our kids learn, grow, and find joy in the little moments. This week was filled with all things fall, lots of learning in the classroom, and plenty of hard work during therapy. 🍁🧡

Behind every activity, every therapy session, and every smile is a child taking another step forward. Sometimes those steps are big, and sometimes they’re tiny—but every single one is worth celebrating. 👣✨

We feel incredibly grateful to be part of their journeys and to witness the determination, laughter, progress, and beautiful moments that make each day at Footprints so special.

🍁 Fall is in the air at Footprints! 🍁

As the leaves begin to change and the weather gets a little cooler, our students are getting into the fall spirit! 🎃🍎🍂

Fall gives us so many fun opportunities to learn, explore, and experience new things—and for our students, sensory input is such an important part of the day! Whether it’s getting our hands messy with a fall craft, exploring different textures, moving our bodies, enjoying sensory bins, or taking a much-needed sensory break, these experiences are so much more than just fun. 💙

Sensory activities can help our students regulate their bodies, stay engaged, explore their environment, and be ready to learn. At Footprints, we love finding ways to incorporate sensory experiences throughout the school day while making learning meaningful and FUN!

Here’s to a season filled with pumpkins, leaves, learning, movement, messy hands, and lots of little moments of growth! 🍁🎃

🍎📚 We’re Settling Into a Great School Year at Footprints! 📚🍎

Our students have been busy settling into their routines, building friendships, and having so much fun learning along the way! 💙

This week, our elementary students learned about Native American peoples and their cultures, including how different Indigenous communities traditionally adapted to their environments and used available natural resources. As part of their learning, students explored traditional fishing practices and created their own magnetic fish and fishing tools for a fun, hands-on activity! 🐟🎣

In our younger elementary classroom, our students have been working hard on learning the letters A and B through engaging activities and crafts. They’ve also been enjoying plenty of opportunities for play, practicing communication and social skills, and building relationships with their peers. 🔤🎨🧩

We love seeing our students learn through hands-on experiences, creativity, movement, and play. Every day brings new opportunities for growth—and we are so proud of all the small steps that lead to BIG progress! 💙👣
