Our goal is to empower, encourage and support through food boxes, clothing, furniture, programs and other resources.

What if a garden could teach a child science, math, reading, teamwork, responsibility, and even how to start a business?

At Zuri’s Circle, that’s exactly what we’re doing!

Our Youth Garden Program takes learning beyond the classroom and puts it right into the hands of our students. From digging in the dirt and planting seeds to caring for crops and discovering where their food comes from, every experience is an opportunity to learn something new.

Food & Nutrition: Learning where food comes from and developing a love for fresh, healthy foods.
Science & Nature: Exploring soil, insects, plant life, and the environment through hands-on discovery.
Math & Reading: Measuring, counting, following directions, building vocabulary, and solving real-world problems.
Teamwork & Life Skills: Learning patience, responsibility, communication, and the importance of working together.
Business & Financial Literacy: Discovering how a tiny seed can become a product, how to calculate costs, set prices, and turn a harvest into a business idea!

The best part! Our students don’t just hear about it. They get to EXPERIENCE it!

We want our youth to understand that growing food is powerful, caring for nature matters, and the skills they learn in a garden can follow them for a lifetime.
Because sometimes the greatest lessons don’t happen behind a desk. They happen with a little dirt on your hands, curiosity in your mind, and the confidence to try something new.

Sometimes, in the middle of the long days, endless phone calls, and trying to figure out how we’re going to help the next family, something happens that reminds us why we started.
Today, that reminder came in the mail.
We received letter from someone we’ve had the privilege of helping. There was no request for anything. Just a simple, genuine thank you.
And it meant more than words can explain.
When you do community work, you don’t always get to see the impact you’ve made. You don’t always know what happens after the groceries are delivered, the gift cards are given, or a family receives the help they desperately needed.
But then a letter like this arrives.
And you realize that what may seem like a small act of kindness to one person can mean everything to someone else.
We don’t do this work for recognition. We do it because people, community matters.
