Pemberville Public Library Our mission is to enrich patrons' lives with the most up-to-date resources available.

The Pemberville Public Library System serves the Eastwood School District with three locations: Pemberville, Luckey, and Stony Ridge. Tomorrow, Thursday October 15 is the next Learn+Play Storytime. We are breaking out the Lollipop Drums and the Parachute to go with great stories, songs and fingerplays.

This is a very active storytime for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers who are accompanied by a parent or caregiver. No registration is necessary.

The Annual Fall Party for children ages 3 through third graders (accompanied by a parent or caregiver) is coming soon to the Pemberville Public Library!

From 6:30 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 22, families are invited to our Go Wild! themed party. We take over the entire library with project stations like making a butterfly that flaps its wings, a toucan that can balance on your finger, a pet python, and armadillo art. There will be a rainforest-themed games area, plus Spot the Jaguar, a photo opp, and a STEM STATION for getting up close with Nature.

Of course we can't forget the delicious snacks in the Jungle Junction Cafe!

The Fall Party is an opportunity for some unplugged fun for families...and its completely FREE!

We ask that you register for the party, to make sure we have plenty of snacks and project supplies for all. Give us a call to sign up: 419-287-4012 or stop by the library.

The dystopian titles for the Eastwood eighth grade reading assignment are on display at all three library locations.

If your 8th grader doesn't have a card, now is a good time to get one! Please remember that we need a parent or guardian signature on the card form for borrowers under age 18.

Tomorrow, Thursday October 8 at 11:00 am is the next Learn+Play Storytime.

Our special play features will be the jingle bells and the parachute. Learn+Play storytimes always feature stories, songs, fingerplays, and Toby for an audience of babies, toddlers, and preschoolers who are accompanied by a parent or caregiver. We have so much fun!

It's October! That means that registration is open for the annual fall party. This year's party is scheduled for Thursday, October 22 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

If you've never been to the fall party, we take over the entire library with project stations, activities, games, a photo opp. and refreshments. It is NOT a quiet night at the library!

Children and parents (or caregivers) can pick up a party map when they arrive and travel from station to station as they choose during party hours.

This year's Go Wild! theme features animals of the rainforest. If your child would like to dress up to go with our them we would love it! (We would also love it if they just came as their own self-wild or not.)

We ask that you please register to ensure we have enough supplies and snacks for all our participants. To register, please call (419-287-4012) or stop by the Pemberville Library.

Monday, October 7 was the monthly Tween Challenge. This month was the Bleached Bones Challenge.

We traced bone patterns onto our black fabric with white acrylic paint pens and then carefully painted our designs with bleach. We also had to rinse and neutralize our fabric after bleaching was complete to prevent the fabric from being destroyed.

Participants were able to make 2 designs each and got one embroidery hoop to frame their favorite design. Though the fabric never turned white as we expected, the orange color ended up looking pretty amazing.

The forecast for Saturday is mostly sunny with a high in the 70s and a low near 50...perfect weather for the annual Historical Cemetery Walk!

This will be our second time at Webster Township Cemetery. For those of you who attended in 2020, you might remember that our tour groups were smaller and our historical interpreters wore face shields. Even those restrictions didn't deter the many, many people who attended that evening.

This year our focus is on 5 different notable figures who are interred in the cemetery. Our evening of tours begins with an accessible sit-down tour where the interpreters come to you. After that first session, tours will depart every 20 minutes for a lantern-lit walk through the cemetery until all our registered participants complete their tour.

Sunset on October 10 is 6:35 pm, so you can register for a time before dark or after, while spaces are still available. Registration is required, but this is event is free and open to the public. You can register by phone or in person at the Pemberville Library. (419-287-4012)
