You do not have to be a Chamber member or even a business to participate. Businesses, organizations, clubs, churches, families, groups and community members are all welcome to join in the fun!

Set up along the Haunted Highline Trail, decorate your space, pass out treats and help us make the 20th Anniversary Peculiar Harvest Moon Festival extra special for the kids and families in our community.

One of our favorite parts of this program is seeing how each business chooses to put the funding to use. Blue Collar Mortgage used its grant to help with its Grand Opening Party, and the event became much more than simply celebrating a new business.

It gave the Blue Collar Mortgage team a chance to thank the community for welcoming and supporting them while also introducing more people to who they are and how they can help families right here in Peculiar.

This is exactly what we hope these grants will do: help our members turn a good idea into something that brings them closer to the community they serve.

We are glad the Chamber could play a small part in their celebration, and we look forward to watching Blue Collar Mortgage continue to grow!

Small Business Grant Update: Sutter’s Creek Garden

We recently checked in with Glenda at Sutter’s Creek Garden in Peculiar to see how plans are coming along for their Chamber grant funds.

With a busy growing season and plenty of unpredictable weather, the gardens have kept everyone busy! Now that things are beginning to slow down, Glenda and her team are turning their attention back to their grant projects.

Their new banner has been purchased, and they are currently planning several marketing items, including a sponsor recognition board, brochures, logo T-shirts, and a display board for gardening photos.

They are also exploring educational items that will give children even more opportunities to learn and participate in the garden. Plans include child-sized wheelbarrows and a wagon, gardening hand tools, magnifying glasses, butterfly kits, worm farms, bug kits, and an outdoor blackboard that can be used as an outdoor classroom.

Sutter’s Creek Garden’s goal is to have everything purchased and completed by the end of the year. They are taking the time to choose items that will be useful, educational, and long-lasting for the children and the garden.

Thank you, Glenda, for sharing this wonderful update! We are excited to watch these ideas grow and see how they benefit the children in our community.

Small Business Grant Update: Evolution Remodel and Construction

We recently checked in with Kris from Evolution Remodel and Construction to see how things are going and how the Chamber’s Small Business Grant is helping support the business.

Kris is currently working on building a more interactive website that will make it easier for customers to connect and learn more about the services Evolution Remodel and Construction provides.

Spring and summer are especially busy seasons in the remodeling and construction industry, which can make attending community events as a vendor challenging. Looking ahead, Kris hopes to participate in more local events as time allows and is considering joining us for a fall festival.

We are excited to see Evolution Remodel and Construction continue to grow and find new ways to connect with customers and our community. Thank you, Kris, for sharing your update with us! We look forward to seeing what comes next!

What a great way to spend our August Third Friday Coffee!

A huge THANK YOU to Lexington on the Square in Harrisonville for hosting the Peculiar Area Chamber of Commerce this morning. We loved getting the opportunity to celebrate with you and connect with so many wonderful people!

Congratulations on your ribbon cutting AND two years in Harrisonville! What an exciting milestone, and we’re so glad we could be there to celebrate it with you.

It was also such a pleasure meeting and visiting with members and board members of the Harrisonville Area Chamber of Commerce. We always enjoy opportunities to connect beyond our own community, build new relationships, and support the businesses that make Cass County such a great place to live and work.
