Reminder! the tent is up! June 28th we start selling!

The Peculiar Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that this will be our first year operating the fireworks tent in the Peculiar Lions Club Parking Lot, located across from Price Chopper!

When you purchase your fireworks from the Chamber tent, you are supporting the Chamber's ongoing efforts to invest back into our community through programs such as small business grants, scholarships, community events, and other initiatives that benefit Peculiar and the surrounding area.

We are also looking for Chamber member volunteers to help staff the tent throughout the week. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up using the link below:

A Very Peculiar Independence Day is Almost Here!

The City of Peculiar, Missouri is excited to invite you to A Very Peculiar Independence Day on Saturday, July 4, at Lions Park as we celebrate America's 250th Birthday!

Spend the day enjoying live music, delicious food, unique shopping, and an incredible fireworks finale. Be sure to check out our newly released Food & Drink Vendor and Vendor Marketplace graphics to see some of the great vendors, artisans, businesses, and organizations that will be joining us throughout the day.

General parking will be available at Dunsworth / 66 Acre Park with a short walk to the event site.

VIP parking offers convenient access near the event area and is available through presale on a first-come, first-served basis.

It's Happening This Morning!

Join the Peculiar Parks Foundation and Peculiar Parks & Recreation for our Kids Pop-Up Day at McKernan Park from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM!

We'll have:
⚽ Soccer balls to kick around
🥏 Disc golf baskets to try out
🎨 Sidewalk chalk for creativity
💧 Water to stay cool
🍧 Popsicles for the kids

This is the first of many small community outreach events designed to introduce families to the programs, sports, and opportunities available through our Parks & Recreation Department while also helping the community learn more about the Peculiar Parks Foundation.

Bring the kids, stop by, and enjoy a fun morning at the park. We look forward to seeing you there!

What a great way to start the day!

Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning for coffee hosted by Blue Collar Mortgage in Peculiar. It was wonderful to see so many members and community supporters come together to network, share updates, and learn more about what is happening in our community.

A special thank you to Bing Coffee for providing the coffee and Kinley Donuts for the delicious donuts that helped make the morning even better.

We would also like to thank Blue Collar Mortgage for hosting and for all they do to support our community. We appreciate businesses that invest their time, resources, and energy into helping Peculiar continue to grow and thrive.

We look forward to celebrating Blue Collar Mortgage with a joint ribbon cutting alongside the Harrisonville Area Chamber of Commerce on Friday, July 31 at 8:00 AM.

Thank you again to everyone who attended. Events like these are a great reminder of the strong partnerships and community spirit that make Peculiar such a special place to live, work, and do business.

Each year, the Peculiar Area Chamber of Commerce recognizes an organization or business that has made a significant impact on our community by naming them an Honorary Chamber Member. Last year, we were proud to honor the Peculiar Lions Club for their many years of service and dedication to Peculiar.

This year, we are excited to recognize The Frog Pond as our 2026 Honorary Chamber Member!

The Frog Pond has become much more than a restaurant. They have created a place where the community can gather, connect, and have fun. From hosting bingo nights and open mic nights to bringing in great bands on the weekends, they have worked hard to provide entertainment and opportunities for people to come together. Add in great food, friendly faces, and a welcoming atmosphere, and it's easy to see why The Frog Pond has become such a beloved part of our community.

Peculiar Parks & Recreation is having a Kids Fishing Day at Peculiar City Lake on Saturday, July 11, 2026!

Bring the kids out for a day of fishing, family fun, and making memories at the lake. The event is open to children ages 2-16 and will take place from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
