🦃🎯 JAKES DAY 2026 was HOT, but we had a BLAST! ☀️🔥

Despite the heat, we had a GREAT turnout for JAKES Day! The kids had a blast testing their skills with the BB Guns and having fun on the Archery Inflatables. 🎯🏹

We were excited to be a part of the Decaturville Main Street Festival and want to give a BIG shout-out to the Decaturville Main Street Festival organizers and volunteers for allowing us to be part of such a great community event!

We also enjoyed the opportunity to educate families and the public about the National Wild Turkey Federation, wildlife conservation, and the importance of preserving our hunting heritage and the outdoors for future generations. 🦃🌲

A HUGE thank-you to everyone who stopped by, participated, volunteered, and supported JAKES Day! Seeing kids excited about the outdoors is what it’s all about.

It may have been HOT… but the smiles made it worth it! 😎☀️🦃

If you are a hunter of any type, conservationist, outdoor enthusiast, turkey lover, or know someone who is then LISTEN UP!!!!

I've got a very limited amount of BOTH 2027 NWTF calenders for sale. The monthly picture is the same in them but the price of each are different. Shoot me a text or give me a call and let me explain the difference to you. If you've bought one from me before your not gonna wanna miss out. Ill be happy to meet up somewhere and get one or more in your hands. But when what I have is gone I can't guarantee that I can get more so act fast.

These make great birthday or Christmas presents (its only 16 weeks till Christmas), so start your shopping early. One comes with a one year membership to the NWTF ($35 value) and the other comes with a three year membership ($105 value).

But the 7,457 acres of ecologically rich bottomland hardwood forest didn’t just become open to the public out of thin air. Conservation partners rallied at the opportunity to increase the amount of public hunting land, including the Tennessee State Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.

Have you spotted a wild turkey lately? TWRA wants to know!

Through the end of August, your observations can help biologists monitor wild turkey populations and estimate this year's nesting success across Tennessee. Reports from every corner of the state help us better understand how turkey numbers and productivity vary from region to region.

Whether you see:
- A gobbler
- A hen
- A hen with poults (young turkeys)
- Or a turkey you're unable to identify by s*x or age
..we'd love to hear from you!

Report your sightings online or download the mobile survey app at: tn.gov/twra/turkeyobs

Thank you for taking a few minutes to support wild turkey conservation in Tennessee!
