This spring reminded us what turkey season is really about. Early mornings, hard hunts, unforgettable gobbles, and memories made with great people. We’re proud of our committee and Jake members that were able to spend time in the turkey woods 2026.

As the season comes to an end, don’t forget to soak in the moments, the sunrises, the stories, the friendships, and the tradition we get to pass on. That’s what makes it all worth it. God Bless!

Big win for Tennessee hunters.

The Fish and Wildlife Commission approved two important changes this week by allowing single shot rifles using straight wall cartridges .35 caliber or larger during the second week of deer muzzleloader season on private lands only and by moving turkey season to begin on the weekend before April 10. Next year, that will mean an opening day of April 3.

Both changes are practical wins for hunters across our state and reflect the kind of thoughtful updates many sportsmen have been asking for. Allowing straight wall cartridges gives hunters more flexibility and another option compared to traditional muzzleloaders, while the earlier turkey opener better aligns the season in a way many hunters will welcome.

It is a strong step forward for Tennessee hunters and something worth celebrating.
