Newton went off this volunteer Jody today to try something new! Newton, if you remember, was transferred here after being found as a neutered, un-chipped stray. During the time he was seen on the streets, he somehow lost his tail. Newton is very sweet, but did not do well in the sanctuary, so he spent some time in a foster home and had a traditional vet appointment to re-check that his amputated tail was not causing him issue. We did some imaging and although the tail seems to be healed properly, we believe the trauma of the tail being amputated likely from a traumatic accident is related to some bladder issues with Newton. Newton knows to use a litter box but does urinate when in a relaxed state, such as when he's sleeping or even when grooming himself.
Today, he is going to be seen by a holistic veterinarian. Jody, as well as us, can see what an amzing cat Newton is and his desire to be in a normal home setting. We hope to somehow solve his urinary issues so he can go into a home. Thank you, Jody for taking the time today to find some answers for him.π
