Latoya's Legacy Sanctuary

Latoya's Legacy Sanctuary Latoya's Legacy is a 501c3 non-profit cat sanctuary serving homeless cats. We do not take owner surrenders. Meetings are by appointment only.

Volunteers to clean & help socialize cats are welcomed. Latoya's Legacy is a family-run cat sanctuary and rescue. We have adoptable cats, but also have permanent residents due to medical issues or behavioral issues. Additionally we have undomesticated cats who due to many different reasons remain with us where they can live their lives like they want with enclosed outdoor access, so safe from the

many problems free roaming strays endure. All cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated appropiately for their age, dewormed, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV prior to adoption. All donations go towards purchasing of food/litter, and veterinary bills for the many cats in our care. Please contact us to learn more about our adoptable cats and ways to volunteer.

This guy was trapped in Rio on Wednesday near Cowgill Road.
We had him neutered, vaccinated and microchipped yesterday. He is friendly, so if this is your cat, please let me know. He will be held for 5 days while he finishes deworming course and then available for adoption if not claimed.

Happy Adoption Day, Sugar Plum!

Sugar Plum is the first of her litter to be adopted! She and her siblings were in an area of Poynette where we are doing TNR. These kittens were the lucky ones and were able to be removed from the area and grow up in a foster home for socializing.

Have a wonderful life, Sugar Plum! We love you!

Thank you to foster Ali and Pet Supplies Plus - Portage, WI . If you are looking for a cat or kitten, stop by at Pets Plus Portage to see Sugar Plum's siblings and Nathan!

Newton went off this volunteer Jody today to try something new! Newton, if you remember, was transferred here after being found as a neutered, un-chipped stray. During the time he was seen on the streets, he somehow lost his tail. Newton is very sweet, but did not do well in the sanctuary, so he spent some time in a foster home and had a traditional vet appointment to re-check that his amputated tail was not causing him issue. We did some imaging and although the tail seems to be healed properly, we believe the trauma of the tail being amputated likely from a traumatic accident is related to some bladder issues with Newton. Newton knows to use a litter box but does urinate when in a relaxed state, such as when he's sleeping or even when grooming himself.

Today, he is going to be seen by a holistic veterinarian. Jody, as well as us, can see what an amzing cat Newton is and his desire to be in a normal home setting. We hope to somehow solve his urinary issues so he can go into a home. Thank you, Jody for taking the time today to find some answers for him.πŸ’ž

Spencer Tracy and Hudley πŸ–€πŸ€πŸ–€

These two are just so cute. I think they're brothers or somehow related. They have remained best friends even in a sea of cats in the sanctuary.

These two could be adooted. Spencer Tracy (left) is not big on human interaction, but is always out and about. Hudley does allow brushing and minimal petting, but that could easily change within a home and consistent companionship.

Happy Adoption Day, Blondie!πŸ’›πŸ€

What a special adoption for a very special guy! Blondie has a gentle soul and has been patiently waiting to be choosen. He was transferred to us so another small rescue could make room for a serious medical cat. Blondie did well here, but he definitely wanted more attention. He spent time at Tabby and Jack's, in a foster home and then returned back to the sanctuary. Thankfully, he found an adopter who wanted a cat who was older and would do well in a single cat household. I think Blondie will love this home!

Have a wonderful life, Blondie! We love you and we will miss your sweet face!

Niles and Annie are looking for a home.πŸ’ž Having two kittens is better than one. Trust me. They keep each other company and burn off that kitten energy together. What would be better than adopting a pair that are already siblings?!

I really love these two. They are so cute, play hard and are very, very sweet. Plus they are Halloween colors, which is my favorite holiday!

Niles and Annie are 3.5 months old. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and FIV/FeLV negative.

Niles and Annie can be seen anytime during normal business hours at Tabby & Jack's Cross Plains. To set up a private appointment, please reach out via Facebook or email us at [email protected].
