There are 2 sessions of CPUC Public Hearing on SDG&E’s rate increase request: Tues., Nov. 10, Santee City Hall (10601 Magnolia Ave.), 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

This hearing is about SDG&E’s rate request only, not the Golden Pacific Powerlink. Yet, press will be there, and the CPUC needs to see that our community is still watching and opposed to SDGE Golden Pacific Powerstink project.

Show up in your favorite yellow t-shirts.

Can’t make it and want to comment on the rate hike? Submit your opposition at apps.cpuc.ca.gov/c/A2606015.

Can't make it and want to oppose the GPP? Submit your opposition email at [email protected] (note that once SDGE file with CPUC, we will be able to share the docket information and the CPUC comment portal on this project, similarly to the one for the rate increase.)

I wonder what , a famous resident of last century, would think of shenanigans with the ...

It was obviously another era, and SDGE, at the time, cared about limiting their impact on the mountain. I would even dare say that they left some nice structure behind, such as this weir, built in 1912.
Blended nicely with Nature, it was not an eyesore and definitely not interfering with activities, as would their proposed 190ft tall towers and 500kV line!

Many of the century-old trees that were there are still here, and should remain protected from disaster!

Supporting progress is not a reason to support destruction! They have way better existing alternatives to this line... Just ask , they did cancel a similar project (Serrano-Mesa 500kV) for too high cost and better current solutions!

Fresh out of a PSPS warning, it would be great to remind SDGE and CPUC that this is a terrible idea to build a 500kV transmission line in a high fire-risk corridor...

ACTION ALERT

The Vista Irrigation District Board of Directors will hold a Special Board Meeting on Wednesday, October 14 at 1:00 p.m. to consider taking a formal position opposing the proposed Golden Pacific Powerlink.

This is an important regional conversation. SDG&E’s preliminary alignment would cross Vista Irrigation District-owned land in Warner Springs, including lands associated with the Warner Ranch and Lake Henshaw watershed. Vista Irrigation District owns and manages Lake Henshaw, Henshaw Dam, and approximately 43,000 acres surrounding the Warner Valley Groundwater Basin.

The District has already raised concerns about potential impacts to water supply, water quality, groundwater, wildfire response and fire protection if major transmission infrastructure is constructed across these lands.

Community members interested in the Golden Pacific Powerlink and its potential impacts throughout the backcountry are encouraged to attend, learn more, and participate in the public process.
