We are one of the last old-growth forests in SoCal.
Should this really be partially destroyed to enable the Powerlink to go through?
And what about our ONLY source of water being contaminated by the pesticides that would keep the right-of-way under the line clear of vegetation?
How would your hikes be still enjoyable passing by a buzzing and crackling 500 kV transmission line?
There are so many reasons not to have this line crossing the mountain, and so many more that any routes shouldn't even be proposed in the first place!
SDGE, during their open house meetings, makes it clear that this is a done deal, that they are just following CAISO directions, and that the CPUC is going to be the one telling them the routes to follow...
So it is time for us to get even more active and reach out to some lawyers. This is not going to be free, and we have very limited resources - any amount that you could donate to the Save Palomar Mountain would help!
