UPDATE on the little dog at the BCSO shelter:

We have new information from Sheriff Wayne Ivey’s office. After our earlier post, the shelter Director confirmed that the dog HAS been listed on the BCSO Animal Care Center website and provided the adoption card to back it up.

Here are the details we now have:

Animal ID: 1011250
Description: Adult male, small mixed breed, listed as a stray
Status: Available for adoption as of June 22

So if you were searching the website earlier and could not find this dog, check again now under that animal ID.

The bottom line has not changed for anyone who may be missing this pet: if this is your dog, or you know whose it is, get to the shelter. The stray hold is expiring and the dog goes into the adoption lottery. Once it is adopted out, the original owner loses legal claim to it.

We appreciate the Sheriff’s office running this down and getting us accurate information so the right family has the best shot at being reunited with their dog.

URGENT: This little dog is running out of time, and someone out there may be looking for it.

This dog has been at the BCSO animal shelter since June 16 but for some reason it has not appeared on the shelter’s website, which means an owner searching online would never know it’s there.

The stray hold expires this weekend. The dog goes into Sunday’s adoption lottery on June 21 at 3:30 PM. Once it is adopted out, the original owner has NO legal recourse to get it back.

If this is your dog, or if you recognize it, get to the BCSO animal shelter TOMORROW. The shelter opens at noon on Sunday, June 21. You need to be there before the 3:30 PM lottery.

This is exactly why rescue groups urge anyone missing a pet to physically visit the shelter every single day. The website does not always reflect every animal in custody.

**** Foster Home or Adoptive Home needed *****

Foster home / adoptive home still needed for these two wonderful dogs. NewfyDoodles they share the same dad but different mom's and were born 2 days apart June 17 and June 19th. They are perfectly house trained and do not shed. Both are great companions and will increase your quality of life should you give them a chance.

Lance and Lady G are now in boarding. Might you be their saving grace?

We truly do not want to separate, but may need to. Lance will be great with any type family. Lady G, will need to go to home with another dog. Having a fenced in yard is required but a large yard is not a necessity
