Salute Inc. Honor the Service. Remember the Sacrifice.

06/06/2026

Small hearts. Big mission.

Our Giving Group Junior Ambassadors are once again leading with compassion, this time in support of Active Duty and Veteran families in our community through our partnership with Salute Inc.

Behind every military family is sacrifice, strength, and moments that often go unseen. Through this mission, we hope to remind these families that they are not alone and that their community stands beside them.

We hope you can join us on July 19th for Bash 4 the Brave from 11 AM–4 PM for a day filled with music, food, a car show, and carnival fun for the whole family, all coming together for a greater purpose.

But if you’re unable to attend, we would truly appreciate your support through a donation, a share, or simply helping us spread the mission.

Chief Warrant Officer Tellys served 16 years in the U.S. Army, including time spent as a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter pilot. After his separation from the Army, Tellys almost gave up his dream of flying until he found the PSA Airlines Rotor Transition Program. This program partnered with Skywarrior Flight Training Inc. to train qualified rotary wing (helicopter) pilots to fly fixed-wing planes. After training, the pilots were directly hired by American Airlines.

During the training, Tellys was without an income, so SALUTE, INC. helped his family with utility bill payments. Tellys looks forward to achieving his dream of being a commercial airline pilot. Additionally, Tellys has started connecting with other veterans on ways they could give back. One of his goals is to set up a scholarship fund in memory of his two close friends who paid the ultimate price while flying for the military.

The U.S. Department of War reports that nearly 30% of veterans from Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom have experienced PTSD. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) (WHO), there are many effective treatments for PTSD and up to 40% of people with PTSD recover within one year. Yet many veterans struggle to get the help they need due to financial restraints.

SALUTE provides temporary financial assistance to help veterans pay their bills while seeking treatment for PTSD.

During PTSD Awareness Month, please consider donating to SALUTE to help more veterans get the treatment they deserve.

When SALUTE first launched, there were many businesses and individuals who helped us get started, including ITW. This global multi-industry manufacturing leader, headquartered in Glenview, has been with us from the start, supporting us for over 20 years and sponsoring our annual fundraiser party. Thank you to the team at ITW for everything you do to help our vets.
