Looking to spend more time with her boys, single mom and Staff Sergeant Lacey retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service. During a productive and rewarding career in the military, which included several periods spent overseas, Lacey was recognized with many commendations and medals. Nonetheless, Lacey’s school-age kids were getting older, so she chose to retire from a career she loved. The gap between her separation earnings and the start of disability pay left Lacey struggling to make ends meet. Actively looking for a civilian job that would best use her skills and experience, Lacey fell behind on rent and reached out to SALUTE for assistance.

Thanks to your generosity, SALUTE was able to help with rental assistance, preventing eviction and keeping the family in their home.

Why get involved with SALUTE? We are dedicated to meeting the financial, physical, and emotional needs of injured military service members, veterans, and their families. Through your donations, we provide one-time financial assistance for rent/mortgage payments, auto expenses, utilities, and other everyday expenses as veterans transition back to civilian life. We also help cover household costs while veterans receive assistance at U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs hospitals or mental health, rehabilitation, and substance abuse programs.

We’ve earned the Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid (the highest rank for fiscal responsibility that a charity can achieve) and a 100 out of 100 rating on Charity Navigator.
