I want to solve the problem of poverty in Hawaii, Big Island, following the example of countries that did not have natural resources to export, but which have recently been able to develop significantly and take their place in the world, thanks to the development of modern technologies, for example, Japan, South Korea and Singapore. As a specialist with over 15 years of experience in the IT field, after moving to Hawaii (Big Island), I noticed a significant lag in this area. There are no technology companies here, and traditional educational institutions are experiencing a major shortage of teachers in IT specialties. As a result, the IT industry is not developed here. Young people often lack opportunities to become acquainted with IT professions and complete internships in real technology companies. As a result, they have to leave for other states or work in low-paying jobs. I want to try to fix the problem, and for this, I am opening a robotics club. I want to get children interested, starting from an early stage. And gradually create a community of professionals to work together on real, useful projects. I plan to conduct classes for children from 8 years old, in a playful way (Lego Spike Essential), gradually complicating (BBC MicroBit, Arduino, Raspberry PI, ESP32), and moving to a professional level in software development (C #, ASP.NET MVC, Core, MS SQL, etc.). I want to ask local residents (Pahoa, Keaau, Mountain View, Volcano, Hilo) what they think about this idea, to introduce children to information technology, robotics, automation and related topics and what they ready to pay.
