This is a video of the blessing (Kipaepae) celebrating the Couny's purchase of Honolulu Ahupua'a under the PONC program. The 365 acre property we also know as Honolulu Landing is now under protection from development in perpetuity. The purchase and Kipaepae were brought about through community action involving the County of Hawaii's Mayor's Office, the Offices of CMs Ashley Kiekiewicz & Matt Kaneali'i-Kleinfelder, the Keli'ipo-Kuamo'o Foundation and nonprofits, Malama O Puna & Kawai'ula. Watch and listen to learn more about the history of Honolulu Ahupua'a. Video provided courtesy of Beth Block.
