Update on Zaza! 💛
Morning in the park! ☀️ Zaza was enjoying some off-leash time, although she occasionally tries to quickly leave the park and head straight back home because she loves her family so much 😂🏡

Previously known as Zlata, she was first evacuated from Big Heart shelter, then later evacuated again to Stryi shelter before finally finding her forever home.

She has now been with her family for over 3 years, safe, loved, and living the happy life she always deserved. 🥹🐾

Russia launched one of the biggest air attacks since the beginning of the full-scale invasion — firing 73 missiles and 656 drones across Ukraine overnight.

Kyiv was hit the hardest. Residential buildings, civilian infrastructure, and entire neighborhoods were damaged or destroyed. Rescue workers are still searching through the rubble.

The death toll in Kyiv has already risen to 18 people, and officials fear it may continue to rise. Dozens more were injured.

This is the reality Ukrainians continue to live through every single day. 💔

Meet Zoja! She is looking for her loving family! 🥰❤️

Zoja went through the hell of an abandoned shelter when the war began. She and other dogs were left without food during the occupation. Despite this, they did not lose their kindness and gentleness. After some time, we managed to evacuate them, but they are still waiting for their person who will finally take care of them, love them, and never abandon their faithful friend 🥺

- Age: around 4 years
- Weight: 20 kg / 44 lbs
- Size: medium
- Health: Vaccinated, chipped, sterilized
- Breed: mixed
- With Kids: no experience
- With Dogs: plays well, does not provoke fights, can show dominance towards new animals, as she has a dominant temperament (therefore, in a new family, she must be supervised at first)
- With Cats: no experience
- Adoptive Experience: Ideally suited as the only dog in the family. Can be a second dog with time for adaptation and supervision to avoid conflicts.
- House Training: She does her business outside if taken for walks on time. She walks well on a leash and can stay alone at home without howling or crying.
- Character: Loves people, very people-oriented, enjoys communication and walks.

Three Years Without Pavlo 💔
May 24th marked three years since we lost our dear friend, teammate, and the heart of our Zhytomyr kennel, Pavlo.

Pavlo was the kind of person who never said “no” when an animal needed help. He dedicated his life to saving the forgotten, the abandoned, and the unwanted. Together with his wife Margo, he cared for dozens of dogs and cats, often putting their needs before his own.

During the early days of the war, when animals were left behind in unimaginable circumstances, Pavlo was there. He rescued countless lives and traveled wherever he was needed, no matter how difficult or dangerous the journey.

Even just days before his passing, Pavlo saved another dog from certain death. That was who he was — someone who could never walk away from an animal in need.

Thank you, Pavlo. We will never forget you. 🐾❤️

Update on Orla 💛 She’s safe, loved, and apparently has transformed into a little lioness 🦁

Some of you may remember Orla as Gina — a tiny puppy found abandoned in Zhytomyr during the freezing winter with her siblings. Out of eight puppies, only Gina and three sisters survived the streets and parvo.

Seeing her happy, playful, and spoiled after such a heartbreaking beginning means everything to us 🐾

Update on Frodo! Frodo is enjoying his new life surrounded by love, comfort, and new friends 🏡🐶

It’s hard to believe this is the same little dog who was once found hiding under a shop, struggling to survive all alone. We took him to the veterinarian and cared for him at our shelter, helping him slowly learn that people could be kind.

And now, after everything he’s been through, Frodo is finally safe, loved, and home. 🥹🐾

One of the Biggest Attacks on Kyiv 💔
Russia launched one of the largest missile and drone attacks on Kyiv. Explosions shook the city for hours as missiles and drones struck residential areas and civilian infrastructure.

At least two people were killed, including children among the injured. More than 50 people were hurt. Fires, collapsed buildings, destroyed apartments, damaged dormitories, businesses, and even metro infrastructure — the destruction stretches across the city.

People spent the night in shelters, listening to explosions and waiting to hear if their loved ones survived.

A dog who survived loneliness and fear, still hoping for kindness! Our Teidah is looking for a sponsor ❤️

This is Teidah. Her story is a bittersweet tale of survival, loss, and quiet hope. Teidah came to the “Big Heart” shelter near Kyiv in the spring of 2021. Before that, she lived in a small rural shelter with her siblings. Her world was turned upside down when the shelter’s owner unexpectedly passed away, leaving the dogs completely alone.

Teidah and the other dogs were left in an empty yard, next to an abandoned house. For months, they survived on their own—frightened, without food, without people, and with no support. They didn’t understand why their once-familiar world had suddenly become so cold and unforgiving. Teidah survived, but that loneliness left a deep mark on her heart.

Because of this, Teidah has lost her trust in people. She doesn’t know what human kindness or care feels like. Yet, despite her fear, she is not aggressive. She is a calm, balanced, and gentle dog who gets along well with other animals and never causes conflict. However, her fear of humans is profound. When someone tries to pet her, she tenses up and wants to flee.

Teidah faced yet another challenge during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. She was evacuated from the shelter near Kyiv to our kennel near the Polish border, and then to paid temporary housing. We did everything possible to ensure her safety.

Teidah is a dog who needs extraordinary patience, understanding, and love. We don’t know if we will ever find a family ready to give her the time and acceptance she needs. But until that day comes, we are committed to providing her with a safe and peaceful life. Teidah deserves a chance. She is a quiet, gentle soul who hasn’t yet found her place in the world, but she truly deserves one 🙏
