🚨 THE 6TH DAY OF NONSTOP ATTACKS — OUR DOGS NEED EU FOSTERS NOW! 😭

For the 6th day in a row, Kyiv and the surrounding region have been under relentless attacks. Our district is being targeted, and the explosions are coming dangerously close to the places where our animals are staying. 😔💔

Today, our dogs at a paid foster home (perederzhka) are wearing ThunderShirts — calming jackets designed to help dogs who are frightened by thunderstorms. Our dogs are wearing them because they are living through missile attacks. 😭💔

When the explosions begin, they don’t understand what is happening. They hear the terrifying sounds, feel the windows shake, and become desperate to find somewhere safe. All they can do is cling to the people around them and wait for the noise to stop.

That’s why we are urgently asking for EU fosters. If you live in the EU and can open your home to one of our dogs or cats please contact us 🙏

🚨 SHELTER AREA BEING BOMBED — WE NEED EMERGENCY FOSTERS IN THE EU! 😭

Our shelter is located in the Kyiv region, and the area has been under attack for the past five days. Today, it was hit twice by Russian drones, with explosions occurring dangerously close to our shelter 😔💔

The attacks caused major fires, and several people were injured, with some requiring hospitalization.

We are extremely worried about the safety of our animals and are afraid we may need to evacuate. The hardest part is that we don’t even know where we could take so many dogs and cats. 😩

This is why we are urgently looking for foster homes in the EU who could open their doors to one of our animals. If you are in the EU and could foster a dog or cat, please contact us or share this post 🙏

Meet Ayumi! A survivor with a heart full of love 🥹

Ayumi is a stunningly beautiful dog. She’s gentle with other dogs, non-confrontational, and absolutely adores people.

While Ayumi is calm and well-mannered, she does have one fear: being left alone. She can’t stand being confined to a crate or closed in a room. Her past is filled with pain and abandonment, and we believe this fear comes from once being left behind.

Ayumi’s story is heartbreaking. Once, she was abandoned on the street, pregnant and alone. She gave birth, but the people around her drowned her puppies and threatened to kill her too. With a full milk supply and no puppies to nurse, she lay in the bushes, crying in pain for days, begging for help that never came.

But one day, everything changed. Our teammates Vita and Karina found Ayumi and couldn’t turn away. They took her to the vet, gave her the care she desperately needed, and brought her back to life—not just physically but emotionally too 🙏

Today, Ayumi is an incredible dog, full of love and trust in people despite everything she has been through. Her resilience and gentle spirit are nothing short of remarkable.

💔 Update on Druzhok
Druzhok is at the veterinarian today for an ultrasound. He is very weak and currently needs to be manually urinated, so he requires close monitoring and care.

Druzhok is one of the stray enterprise dogs. He was diagnosed with severe weakness in his hind legs and spinal issues, which made walking extremely difficult. Despite everything, we’re doing our best to keep him comfortable and give him the care he needs.

Lys wanted to share a few of his latest adventures from the Netherlands! He’s clearly loving his new life and has officially become a proper sea dog ⛵️💙

Lys is a true survivor from Zhytomyr. When he first arrived at our kennel with two other dogs, they were so severely emaciated that it was hard to imagine them surviving. With medical care, time, and lots of love, they slowly grew stronger.

Today, Lys is healthy, happy, and most importantly — home. 🥹🐾

Last night, Russia launched a massive combined missile and drone attack on Kyiv, killing at least 12 people and injuring 33.

More than 12 locations were damaged, including residential buildings, a children’s hospital, a school, and warehouses.

💔 Goodbye, Sweet Shumka
We are heartbroken to share that our beloved Shumka passed away peacefully on Friday, surrounded by his family.

Shumka was a three-legged dog from Uman who we were lucky enough to send to the U.S. just before the CDC dog import ban and the beginning of the full-scale war. 😭 Because of that, Shumka never had to hear the sounds of war.

He arrived in San Francisco, where our director Mandy met him at the airport. Soon after, he found his forever family in the Bay Area and lived a beautiful life filled with love. He even appeared on local CBS with our co-founder Jenna and Mandy when our organization received a public service award. 🥺❤️

After a long battle with degenerative spinal disease and Cushing’s disease, Shumka was finally able to rest.

Run free, Shumka. You will always be a part of our rescue family ❤️

🐾 Meet Lilu! Lilu is about 2 months old and is now ready to find her forever family! She is a tiny little girl with a sweet, gentle personality. She’s smart, playful, sleeps quietly through the night, and already knows how to use a puppy pad.

She will receive her second vaccination on the 26th and will soon be ready to enjoy walks outside. 🐶

Lilu’s story began with heartbreak. She was one of six tiny puppies abandoned in a field near Kyiv with no mother, no food, and no chance of surviving on their own. Thankfully, kind people found them, and our team brought them to safety.

Now it’s time for the happy ending she deserves. 🏡

If you’re looking for a loyal little companion, Lilu is waiting to meet you. Please share this post to help her find the loving family she’s been waiting for. ❤️
