🗓️ National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, October 24!

Do you have unused or expired medications at home? Safely dispose of them at our Drug Take Back Event in partnership with Tioga County Public Health and Tioga County Sheriff's Office!

📍 Location: HHS Building 1062 State Route 38, Owego, NY
🕘 Date & Time: Saturday, October 24th from 10:00am - 1:00pm

We will be accepting:
💊 Prescription pills, patches, and over-the-counter medications
💉Sharps and needles (must be in a sealed hard plastic or sharps container)

Proper disposal helps:
✅ Prevent misuse and accidental poisoning
✅ Protect our environment
✅ Keep our community safe

Today is Save A Life Day, a community initiative dedicated to increasing awareness around overdose prevention and expanding access to naloxone. By carrying naloxone and understanding how to administer it, members of our community can serve as vital first responders. Even the simplest action can make someone a hero in a moment of need!

The Annual Tioga County Overdose Awareness Vigil is now happening on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at the Courthouse Square Gazebo at 20 Court Street in Owego.

Event Schedule:
5:30pm: Create a Luminary Bag & Connect with Agencies
6:00pm: Overdose Awareness Vigil with Guest Speakers
6:45pm: Reflection and Remembrance Walk

Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
