It was time to share funds with youth activities in Owego.
Jenna Bowen owner of Owego Gymnastics and Ron Harris President of Tiahwaga Community Players happily accepted our annual giving checks.
Both groups have high level youth programs that Owego Kiwanis is proud to support. These organization provide programming that keeps kids mentally, physically and culturally sharp. Confidence and knowledge builds as we continue to support our youth.
Thanks to Jenna and Ron for longevity in their fields.
Don't be strangers. Keep Kiwanis in mind for projects that need volunteers.

Aktion Club where development has no disability.
Aktion Club is the only service club for adults with disabilities, with more than 7,200 members in over 400 clubs worldwide. Club members become competent, capable, caring leaders through the vehicle of service.

Owego Kiwanis Aktion Club meets the first Tuesday of each month at the Owego Boys and Girls Club on Erie Street from 1-230pm.
We accept new members at monthly meetings thru out the year. 18+ age members usually come with a support person . Some members are able to attend on own.
Kathy Nichols Newell is the club advisor and attends regularly. Please check our next 3 events and come join us. Membership is $8 a year for all members. We have fundraised for this upcoming year. No money is needed. We keep a spare change jar on table at mtgs for snacks.

October: *mtg on 10/6 at Iron Kettle *noon-2pm.
*Different place/time

November: mtg on 11/3 at club, bring food item/s for Rural Ministry food donation 1-230pm.

December: mtg on *12/8 at club, bring children book/s for book mobile donation 1-230pm. *Note date.

No mtg 8/4, we are mtging at fair next Tuesday 8/11, fair free day. Passing out freeze pops 1-3 pm.
Meet by shed office by bed store entrance on Elm Street.

Owego Kiwanis welcomed Christine Baust and Terri Howard, from A New Hope Center, today. The club conducted its 4th annual baby shower for A New Hope Center. Members brought in all sorts of baby supplies for that wonderful organization.
