Happy National Pug Day! 🐾

Today is the perfect day to share a truly special update on an amazing hospice foster pug named Pugsley, who is officially 14 years old and has been loved by his foster family for over a year! 🥹❤️

Pugsley has quite a few medical challenges, but he absolutely refuses to let anything slow him down. His foster family recently discovered that he loves going for walks! Because of his neurological issues, his back legs don’t work quite right, but a new pair of special dog shoes completely changed the game. They give him the perfect traction to get outside as many times a day as he can. 👟✨

A few sweet updates on Pugsley’s life:

• Social Butterfly: He loves walking with companion dogs and literally tries to bounce off them! He recently got to visit his buddy Tucker (who was adopted last February), loves walking with past foster Star, and of course, his foster brother McGraw tags along too (just a little slower!).

• Health Milestone: Pugsley is officially one full month past his last fainting episode from his syncope disorder! 💪

• The Ultimate Velcro Dog: He has to be right by his foster mom’s side whenever she is home, and he curls up tight next to her every single night. He’s also working really hard on sharing the attention and being nicer to McGraw.

His foster mom says her absolute favorite thing about him is how he looks at you. When you hold him, he just stares into your eyes like you are the absolute best person in the entire world. He completely lives up to the breed and has officially turned his foster family into pug-obsessed superfans!
Pugsley is so incredibly loved, and it is a true honor for his family to spoil him like crazy for this special phase of his journey.

🦸And what a hero Pugsley has found in his foster mom, Sarah! Giving him love, joy, and family through all the good days, and the hard days. ❤️ He has truly won the lottery! 💰

We are SO incredibly grateful to everyone who has stepped up to open their homes and hearts! Because of you, nine deserving dogs are getting their chance at a better life. ❤️

But we’re not done yet!!

We still have several pups who have been waiting far too long in shelters. 💔 These are dogs who continue to be overlooked, watching others get their freedom rides while they wait for someone to choose THEM.

We want to get these long-term shelter residents OUT and into loving foster homes! 🏡🐶

So many amazing dogs are waiting for their chance at a better life, and we can’t save them without YOU! 💚

Fostering is easier than you think!
🐾 We provide the supplies and cover veterinary care.
🐾 You provide a safe home, love, and patience.
🐾 Fosters help with vet visits and adoption events.
🐾 Short-term and longer-term fosters are needed!

You don’t have to adopt to save a life. By opening your home temporarily, you’re giving a dog the opportunity to find their forever family, and making room for us to rescue another.

Four dogs needing a second chance.

And this week, Starla, Feather, Eeny & Moe got their happy endings. 🐾🏡🩵

We could not be happier for these four, and we are beyond grateful to the families who chose to open their hearts and homes to a rescue dog. These families didn’t just adopt a dog, they changed a life forever.

And now comes our favorite part… watching them LIVE. 🩵

The adventures.
The couch cuddles.
The first holidays.
The car rides.
The goofy pictures.

We can’t wait to see it all. 🥹🐶

But here’s the thing…

There are more dogs waiting.

And we can’t help them without foster homes.

Our hearts are warm and fuzzy! 💞🥹

Tuesday night we posted an urgent plea for a foster home to step up for Mack, an 8 year old dog whose family was losing their home. Well, there turned out to be so much more to his story.

Thank you to everyone who played a role in saving Mack. 🙏🏼 From the young teen girl who was desperate to save her family dog and couldn’t afford the surrender fees at the shelter, to the absolutely amazing school social worker who contacted us and went above and beyond (as social workers do day in and day out!!!), to Erin on our team who poured so much heart and time into his intake, to Audrey who was all over his vetting needs before he was even in our care and made the call to our partners at True Vet, and a HUGE shout out to True Vet who took this guy in late Thursday for a full exam and held him overnight until his foster family could get him yesterday. Seriously, True Vet is the best!!! 😍

Mack is now in his foster home and settling in well! We are so so thankful - it is ultimately because of Melody and her family stepping up that we were able save him. 💙🙏🏼

So, here’s to warm and fuzzy hearts, shedding happy tears, and this incredible team of people who come together to make stuff happen! 👏🏼
