Good morning. Writing this before I pull out of one rodeo grounds to head to another one. Sad to see this place go. It was an amazing time, we love this place and rodeo and so look forward to coming back again. Joanie left early this morning to head for the house for only 3 and a half days then back on the road to me. She is my rock and does so very much to make me look good. I already miss her too.
Why am I so sad? Why am I so upset? I tell myself, Wait for God’s help! You will again be able to praise him, your God, the one who will save you. Psalm 42:5
Sometimes sadness and being upset can creep up on us. We go about the daily affairs of life and these twin alarms of the soul sneak up on us and bring us down emotionally. But, when the source of the discomfort gets to us, we ask the questions of, Why am I so sad? Why am I so upset? For people of faith, however, the questions we put to ourselves are not straightforward.
They are indirect because the answer is obvious. There is no reason for continued sadness and upset. As people of Christ, we have a resource that can fix these feelings. We have God. God can help us with whatever it may be that has brought sadness and being upset to our hearts. If we wait for God’s help, we will not wait in hopelessness. After all, God is our protection and source of strength. He is always ready to help us in times of trouble. God specializes in helping His people out of the situations of life that trouble our hearts.
If we wait on God, then we will place our trust in Him. We will believe that He can help us in our time of need, and He will come through when the time is right. Waiting on God includes trusting that he knows when the time is right. For us, now is always the right time. God, however, has His own plans and His own purposes and people of faith are willing to wait on God. We are willing to wait because we believe that God’s timing is perfect.
If we wait on God, then we will praise Him for what He has done. Since God is the only one who can truly save us, we should always give Him the praise and glory He deserves. Amen? Remember Who Loves Ya.

Good morning. Rain, yaaaaaaaaaaa, not too sure what it is doing in your neck of the woods, but Enumclaw is raining, Molson is raining, Oroville and Chesaw raining. PTL!
But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord.1 Cor. 4:3-4
So, it’s good to have a spouse who speaks faith into your life, a neighbor who cheers you on, a friend who encourages you. It’s healthy when you have people who make you feel you have value, and you are appreciated. But it seems like it becomes unhealthy if you start depending on them to make you feel good about who you are, if you lose your passion because someone’s not there to encourage you or someone doesn’t approve of you and instead puts you down. We can become so dependent on others approval that we base our value, or our worth, on what they are telling us. That’s a tough relationship.

God didn’t create you to be dependent on someone else to keep you fixed. He uses people to bless and encourage you, but at some point, they’ll let you down and can’t be there for you every time you have a difficulty or think you need them. As a child of God, you need to know that you have His approval of who you are, and that is not dependent on what anyone else thinks or says about you. Be secure and happy in who God has made you to be. Put a smile on, it adds to your face value;-) Remember Who Loves Ya.

Good morning. I very much dislike driving in construction. 50 mph, 15 mph, 5 mph, and then when hauling a huge RV, you see a sign in the middle of nowhere that says bad road ahead, the only problem is the bump is 10’ past the sign!!!!!!! OK, thank you for being my Moment Therapist;-)
Human, the Lord has told you what goodness is. This is what he wants from you: Be fair to other people. Love kindness and loyalty and humbly obey your God. Micah 6:8
I remember growing up and being kind of a mischievous kid. I am the youngest of 8 children and I can remember my mother pleading with us, Would you just be good?!? Sometimes I wonder if God is pleading with us as His children, Would you just be good?!? The good news for us is that God has told us how to be good.
The Old Testament prophet Micah, in a pretty famous passage of Scripture, no matter what translation you read it from tells us what it means to be good. Micah says that God wants us to be fair to other people, love, kindness, and loyalty, and, oh ya, humbly obey Him. Two of these three expectations is how we relate to other people. The final expectation has to do with how we relate to our Creator, the Father.
Obeying God demands humility from us. You must humble yourself to fully obey the Lord. The book of Philippians says that Jesus humbled himself by being fully obedient to God, Philippians 2:8. Obedience, for sure, requires humility.
For followers of Jesus living in this century, this means that we must remember that WE ARE NOT GOD. GOD IS GOD, and He has the final say. His Word is our standard for living. We come before Him in total humility, because He is God and He is holy. Hey folks, if you really want to obey God, you have to be humble, right? Right. Remember Who Loves Ya.

Good morning. Praying for rain today. Not a drizzle, but not a downpour either. We need some constant, consistent water flow from the Father above. I’m praying for rain, how about you. I spoke to a friend of mine in Kentucky yesterday, and he said; ya, it finally quit raining long enough for me to get my hay put up! Lol, that’s just the way it is, I guess.
Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.”
But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones;
I was weary of holding it back, And I could not. Jeremiah 20:9
Reading this morning, I found something very cool. See, when God first called Jeremiah to be a prophet, he responded, or said, or cried, I’m too young. I can’t speak. I’m untrained. In this Scripture, even though he’s right in the middle of some heavy torment and discouragement, Jeremiah is saying, God put His word in me, and it’s like a fire shut up in me. I have this gift, this talent, this anointing, and a power that I never realized.

That makes me wonder what is shut up in us, right now? What has God already predetermined you with that He wants to make a fire out of? It could really be anything? A book, a talent, a business, resources, leadership, courage, the pulpit, or wealth is shut up in you. God has already ordained it to happen. You’ve been faithful and done the right thing when it was hard. God is about to release what’s been shut up. You’re going to step into places you never dreamed you would handle, doors you never expected to come flying open, talent you didn’t know is in you. I personally believe we need to get ready. It’s going to be something that will make you to stand out, to impact your family and your community, to leave your mark. I hope I stirred up a fire, or at least a spark with some good kindling behind it. As hot and dry as it is out here, well you never know what God’s gonna do. Remember Who Loves Ya.

Good morning. They call it Hot August Nights. Well, we call it the Hot August Trail. When we are just able to take the next breath before hitting the road again. Has it been fun, oh Ya, has it been hot, oh Ya, has there been any rest in between I have to say some. Has God shown Himself to a lot of people? I don’t want to speak out of turn, but, maybe, could be, perhaps, BEST YEAR EVER!
Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 1 Peter 5:6
Writing and building in the social media context, it means disassembling false images, the ones we’ve worked so hard to create. It means humbling ourselves in front of our friends by showing them our undisguised, unguarded brokenness, our flaws, and failures, our mistakes, and even sometimes our fears. Hard stuff, no question. What’s even harder, though, is that doing this sometimes requires that we go first. You see, truthfulness is not as big in our culture anymore. Look around. Few people live in faithful friendships. There are a lot more acquaintances now adays. So, when and if we choose to, we’re likely to be out in front, all alone, for a time or season, at least.

So why then? Why do we do it? Well, it’s only through truthfulness that the conversion to Christlikeness happens. It certainly doesn’t happen when we’re hiding, or impersonating. It just doesn’t. It’s the way we come into the character of Jesus Christ. Oh, and it’s the way we help our friends to, as well. You see, while very few of us are willing to go first, most of us will follow those who do the, If he can do it, I can do it. So, when one of us humbles himself, others follow. Going first is, well that’s the way I seen Jesus do it, so yep, I will follow. Going first puts us squarely at the front of God’s offensive line, healing the brokenhearted and setting the captives free right?
Someone has got to go first. I have been saying it since I heard it from another, someone’s got to lead screaming. Somebody always does. Be courageous. Pray boldly, If someone must, well then, let it be me. Among your group, be that person. It’ll be scary, sure. It might not go really well. But, that’s okay. We are built for this kind of stuff. And it’s all worth it. This can be some of the most important work we’ll ever do. Remember Who Loves Ya.

Good morning. Well, here it goes again, this month or time of year is a task, but God always picks us up when we are down. Last night He allowed me to do something that I never thought I would ever get to do. The Beautiful Miss Joanie and I helped Miss Brandy put on a Baby Shower for My brand new in October Miss Lou. Or as her parents named her, Loomis Lane Loudon. But as both of my kids know, I will call her whatever I dog gone want to;-) Really though, I thought this was for ladies only? Since when did someone break the rules and allow the men to join in? Either way it was so much fun. Except for the way Miss Joanie fed me baby food, Ummm can I say my next grand baby will NOT be fed that nasty food!
But hospitable, a lover of what is good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled, Titus 1:8
Many people are disciplined when it comes to their career. They’re productive, they’re on time, really excellent. Some people are disciplined when it comes to their health. They eat right, exercise, and get the right amount of sleep. (So far this year I have not fallen into this category.) But let’s talk about when it comes to our thought life, sometimes we’re NOT disciplined and LACK self-control. We let any thought in, then we let it stay and play over and over in our mind. You know like, you never get any good breaks. Everything always seems to go wrong. Will it ever change. We end up living worried, insecure, overwhelmed, and uneasy.

If you’re going to stay in peace (and I encourage that), full of faith (and I encourage that,) expecting God’s favor to be poured out on you, you can’t sit around and just think whatever comes into your mind. You can’t give space to thoughts that limit you. You have to have a disciplined mind. You have to be responsible to exercise self-control. You have to keep out the doubts and lies, lock up any misleading thoughts, and focus on what God says about you, on what He promises you in His Word. Set up a bouncer over your mind, and you’ll live positive, joyful, and full of faith. I promise, NO, HE PROMISES YOU;-) Remember Who Loves Ya.

Good morning. I am sure glad my heavenly father loves me so much that He made the choice that I mattered to Him. You know that feeling you may get every now and again that you are not good enough. I have had that many times in my life. But truth is by myself, I am not good enough, I need Jesus.
But God is rich in mercy, and he loved us very much. We were spiritually dead because of all we had done against him. But he gave us new life together with Christ. You have been saved by God’s grace. Ephesians 2:4-5
Sometimes when we’ve done wrong, or compromised, or made poor choices, we think we’re unworthy of God’s love and don’t deserve anything good. Some people say, after all, I’m just a poor old sinner saved by grace. I can’t expect God’s blessing. But truth is we were all poor old sinners, BUT THEN WE GOT SAVED BY GRACE! When we gave our life to Jesus, we were made alive together with Christ and became new creations. We are no longer sinners. Now we are sons and daughters of the KING, THE MOSTHIGH GOD, crowned with His favor and grace and destined to win. You are a winner!

Don’t fall into the shame of unworthiness. Pull off the guilt, the shame, the feelings of less-than, and COME BOLDLY TO THE THRONE OF GRACE TO OBTAIN MERCY. You can’t go as a weak worm of the dust, saying, I don’t deserve it. I’m so unworthy. I can’t do anything right. No, go the way Jesus would want you to go, with boldness. Shout if you have to. GOD, YOU HAVE MADE ME WORTHY. I believe You love me, that You believe in me, that You want to bless and prosper me. Go as a believer, with confidence, with boldness, because of who saved you. Remember Who Loves Ya.
