Breaking: 11AM January 11th: Police, Coastal Gas Link employees, and a heavy duty tow truck has arrived at the Unist'ot'en bridge and are starting to dismantle the gate. This is a strategic move that the Hereditary Chiefs have decided. The battle is not lost. Due to the recent deaths of family members, it would have been disrespectful to continue with this action as people need time to grieve their losses. According to Wet'suwet'en culture a bad omen comes to your family if you continue to proceed with normal affairs after a loss. So we grieve our losses. We allow a survey crew in to occupy their time surveying for a project that will never happen.

NO PIPELINES WILL BE BUILT ON WET'SUWET'EN TERRITORY.

Yesterday our attorneys appealed the Enbridge decision in state court. To be clear, four other tar sands pipelines are stopped- two, including Enbridge's Northern Gateway and Trans Canada's Energy East, never received approvals in Canada. Two others Trans Mountain ( now owned by Justin Trudeau) and KXL are stopped in courts. The Courts must protect the people, and the water. In the meantime, Premiere Rachel Notley ( Alberta) has directed tar sands oil barons to cut production by 8% as there are no pipelines.. and no one actually wants more tar sands oil- Alberta is a huge polluter.. We are just beginning this next round of opposition. Join us.

Water is Life and it has always drawn life to it, no matter its form. The problem is when you allow development to close to the water. The Lake Wales Ridge, in Central Florida, was know as the first beach front property. Please check out the link below for important info.http://www.myregion.org/clientuploads/pdfs/ncfl_lakewales.pdf

Florida is a state that required artificial drainage due to the fact that most of the state was marsh, wetland or under water. Now we have drained many if not most of the wetlands, changed and diverted the natural water flow (artificial drainage) so that development could happen.

As the development continued. so did the need for more dry land, so more and more artificial drainage was needed. Now our beaches, nature marshes, wetlands and the Everglades have been over built. They say, "if you build it they will come".

We are native Floridians and grew up in South Florida, in the 60's. Back then, people came to vacation because of our beaches and beautiful water ways like the great Everglades and all of Florida's Natural beauty. Florida Waters have always been the driving force behind our states economy.

Our elected offices, water management divisions and all the protection agencies have fail the people of Florida. They have allowed sprawling development, theme parks, water parks, malls, high-rise complexes, hotels, motels, etc. This all created jobs for the residents and vacation destinations for tourist and the Eco-tourism industry was born. The problem, we allow it to invade the marshes and wetlands which filter the water naturally. We have allowed the striping & ra**ng of 100,000's of thousands of acres, to extract nature resources that are rapidly available without strip mining for nutrients & phosphate.

Water management utilizes aquatic "safe" mixtures to manage aquatic vegetation. Many of the mixtures contain "glyphosate" as the active ingredient. Glyphosate is a know carcinogen in California and listed by the World Heath Organization (WHO) as a probable carcinogen. Big Agriculture like "Big Sugar" also spray death sprays containing Glyphosate. The agriculture sprays might have say 18% carcinogen and the Aquatic "Safe" versions may have 56% carcinogen. the striping, ra**ng, dredging of our natural resources , the pumping, dumping and injecting of hazardous waste deep beneath the waters surface, the spraying death sprays has all contributed to the contamination of our lands, waters. The Health impacts won't be truly know for decades. How many more water disaster have to happen before you ban off-shore drilling, injection wells, ocean dumping, hydraulic fracturing/Fracking, Strip Mining. This will improve our broken health, the water, air and the Natural Flow of Water.

We the People of Florida are also to blame. I still hear people say hooray when they hear of a new water park, massive malls and more development. I guess many don't understand that Water is NOT a endless flowing supply or sustainable resource. Over-Development is a major problem that exist and will continue to get worse.

Our elected officials claim to know what they're doing but the proof is in the pudding. Just look at what was once natural beauty and now is "Toxic" Water. It is up to the citizens to get involved and engaged, because our elected officials and protection agencies have proven that they don't know how to manage land or water and only play the blame game. This blame game has not and will not fix this problem. Now there are many, many contributors within this Toxic Land and Water problem.

We feel one of the largest contributors is the use of processes that included pumping, dumping and injection wells to dispose of contaminated waste water and treated sewage water. Billions of gallons of treated Waste Water is pumped through injection wells each day and even more is released. Most, if not all this waste water ends up back in our waters. It is very sad, and please let us not forget that our oceans have been used as an "approved" disposal site for God only knows what Waste and far how long. If you don't know where the "Waste" ends up. Please check out this link for some very eye opening "Waste" material that is legally and illegal dumped or disposed of in our Oceans & Waterways..
http://marinebio.org/oceans/ocean-dumping/

Excerpt "Outfalls from sewage plants can be up to 20 feet in diameter and release 4000 gallons of treated human waste every second, only miles from the shore. A wastewater treatment system discharges treated effluent to a water body from an outfall. An ocean outfall may be conveyed several miles offshore, to discharge by nozzles at the end of a spreader or T-shaped structure. Outfalls may also be constructed as an outfall tunnel or subsea tunnel and discharge effluent to the ocean via one or more marine risers with nozzles."

These types of disposal methods and practices are NOT "Best Management Practices" (BMP's). We call it "Poor Management Practices" (PMP's). When WE Stop these PMP's. We WILL see a improvement in the Water Toxicity. These dumping, pumping and injection facilities and all the "Industries" will claim that they are "highly regulated", and I would agree that there are a lot of paper regulations but the regulation system in place is pretty much a rely on the "Facility/Industry" owners to turn in paper reports and/or records. We do not believe this qualifies as third party regulating or insures any type of protections. It's called Self-Regulation.
Many of these "Facilities/Industries" are only required to be inspected once a year, once every 5 years, etc., and many are not inspected at all. Yes, that is right. Many "Facilities/Industries" are only inspected "IF" a proper complaint is filed with the "RIGHT" agency, department, etc. If anyone reading this knows the "right" agency, etc. PLEASE let the rest of us know!!!
We Must and We CAN bring back. That in itself will create change. WeCan thanks you. Please Like, Comment and Share. Start a conversation, it can lead US to the SOLUTIONS!!! What do we do with all the waste? We have figured out that the Ocean, the Aquifer, beneath the Aquifer, in porous material or layers of such within Our Aquifer and this includes all Water, does NOT work for storage and/or a disposal facility.

Follow up on the Illegal Dumping in Davenport, Polk County, Fl. Brownies Septic & Plumbing driver was caught, on Aug. 9, 2018, illegally dumping what was thought to be "used cooking oil", dumped from a "Septic" pumping truck. Later we find out that it could be from the recycling of used cooking oil. This recycling process has "by-products." So the public is still in the dark as to what was really in the illegally dumped fluids. The new photos are from Aug. 21, 2018. There is a cleanup crew onsite. We ask one of the workers, where the material goes from here? We were told properly disposed of. We ask where? They claim not to know. We will continue to monitor this site and the process of cleaning up this crap, used oil, and/or by-products.

BREAKING NEWS:

Thursday, June 28th 2018

The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission has approved both the certificate of need and the applicants preferred route for the route permit.

We have seen the blatant racism that the commissioners have shown the native peoples of this land, they chose not to listen to the 5 impacted tribes that intervened, the 94% of public comments that were against this pipeline, and the thousands of people that have done direct and peaceful actions against the construction of this pipeline.

The wild rice, climate, the water, and the lives of thousands of indigenous peoples of Minnesota are at stake. No matter what, we MUST KEEP FIGHTING. The governor and many of our representatives are on our side, this isn’t the end only a beginning. Stay tuned for more actions and ways to continue to fight line 3 and stay apart of this fight at www.stopline3.org

Worst idea in history
A letter from an Enbridge engineer in the May 9 Aitkin Age compared the old Line 3 pipeline to a new Line 3 and came up with energy savings. It was a stunning twisting of reality.

Tar sands is one of the dirtiest fossil fuels on the planet. The sticky, mucky substance has to be strip-mined from remote areas of Alberta (which now lie in ruin) and diluted with chemicals before being piped thousands of miles to refineries out east that can handle them. The production and consumption of one barrel of tar sands crude releases 17 percent more carbon dioxide than a standard barrel of American oil, according to U.S. government statistics. Mining tar sands releases massive amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, paving the way for global warming to exceed two degrees C (3.6 degrees F) – levels considered dangerous under the Paris Climate Agreement.

Given these facts, it’s clear that the most responsible choice to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is for Enbridge to shut down Line 3 and join the rest of the sane world as we transition to cleaner energy. It’s underway and it’s working. Constructing a massive, expensive, soon-to-be outmoded fossil-fuel infra- structure through areas of clean water in northern Minnesota is the worst possible idea at the worst possible time in human history.

It’s been fun, tooling around in our cars and boats, guzzling gas as if there’s no tomorrow, but the day of reckoning has arrived. Minnesota’s Department of Commerce has concluded that Enbridge has failed to prove that Line 3 is needed and that Minnesota would be better off without it. I hope the PUC will deny the Line 3 Certificate of Need so we can go on living.

REPOST

“All told, those leaks released 3.6 million gallons of hazardous liquids, including 2.8 million gallons of crude oil, according to data collected from the federal Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA).

That doesn't include an additional 2.4 million gallons of “drilling fluids, sediment, and industrial waste” leaked during ETP's construction of two pipelines in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan”

“I interviewed one of the women, who had been bitten on the breast by one of these dogs, and the ferocity and strength of her was incredible, and she's out right now in another resistance camp, the same resistance camp I'm part of, fighting Line 3, another pipeline project in my people's homelands, wanting 900,000 barrels of tar sands per day through the headwaters of the Mississippi to the shore of Lake Superior and through all the Treaty territories along the way.

But this woman's out there and we're all out there standing together, because we are resilient, we are fierce, and we are teaching people how to reconnect to the earth, remembering where we come from. So much of society has forgotten this.”

"The PUC argues the current permitting schedule does require a cultural resources review before construction commences. But given the PUC’s schedule, the decision allowing construction comes before completion of that review. Consequently, the PUC will lack important information about cultural resources in the pipeline’s path when it decides whether to grant key permits and effectively locks in a route. At that point, the survey becomes nothing more than an after-the-fact epitaph to destruction.

The Native people of Minnesota have repeatedly called for a more comprehensive cultural resources review. In the wake of the Standing Rock disaster, the state of Minnesota should not trust the Corps of Engineers to evaluate and protect these resources, particularly under the Trump administration. The PUC must require completion of a full cultural resources study before it affirms a route for Line 3."
