What an incredible event this past weekend! We were honored to be part of the herculean efforts of the volunteers, sponsors and competitors, without whom none of this would be possible! Thank you!

We are back from the Allagash!!🌲🫎🌲

11 Veterans and one civilian volunteer took to the North Maine Woods to tackle one of our home state's greatest challenges!

The group paddled a total of 87 miles in 6 days, starting at Eagle Lake and ending at Allagash Village. 🛶

We paddled flat water and fast moving currents, ran some great rapids and caught some beautiful brook trout with our new fly rods. 🎣

Thanks to all the volunteers that helped to make this trip possible!

Onto the Standby to Fly Initiative benefit match!🇺🇸

Saturday reminder, message us this weekend if you would like to come on a week long black bear hunt with us. This is open to anyone that has served or is currently serving. Is it open to Veterans dependents? Yes. It doesn’t get much better than this. What’s the cost? Like everything we do it is absolutely FREE!! We will be selecting names next week and notifying the lucky hunters

Support Group Update:

Our local Veteran support group is going well!

We will be meeting this morning at the Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery. If you're a Veteran local to the Bangor/Bucksport area reach out and come hang with us. We have met 5 times over the last few months and have conducted outdoor activities following the group 4 of those 5 times.

Activities have included:

Ice Fishing
Tapping Maple Trees
Hiking & Trail clean-up
Outdoor Trivia Game
Canoeing

During the Month of May we will be taking local Veterans new to turkey hunting on mentorship hunts in Orland and Bucksport.

Our first new turkey hunter couldn't wait for the weekend so we had to protect his identity.🤣

We were out at first light, observed some deer from a distance and got in a good amount of hiking as we walked and called. We had a great interaction with a group of hens but no Toms today.

Looking forward to getting out again first thing on Saturday.

We had an amazing weekend at MMO!

We put two Veteran teams on the water in the Kenduskeag stream canoe race! 🚣‍♂️

Both teams finished the race and were smiling when we picked up the canoes! 😁

We also drew the winners of our spring raffles. Both winners were Maine residents.

Jesse Swett was the winner of the canoe, Jesse is an avid canoeist and will be putting the boat to use immediately.

Josh Sheridan was the winner of the fly rod. Josh is excited to get out fishing with his new gear this season!
