Join us for a morning of fun, entertainment, and, most importantly, EDUCATION based on YOUR NEEDS📢!

As Black Philanthropy Month comes to a close, Orangeburg County First Steps would like to thank the real backbone of our organization: YOU. No matter the title (parent, educator, sponsor, supporter, fellow nonprofit, etc.), YOU enable our organization to serve the children in our community the way we do.

If Black Philanthropy Month has taught us anything, it is this: we need each other, and our children need US ❤. What were your favorite books when you were growing up? Did you picture yourself as one of the characters? Were you the knight in shining armor, damsel in distress, or something in between?

Whatever it was, the books you read gave you the power to be. That is the same experience Orangeburg County First Steps aims to give children participating in our programs. In present and past programs, Countdown to 4k, Countdown to Kindergarten, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Raising a Reader, and Healthy Steps, OCFS places a STRONG emphasis on early literacy and imagination. With more than 2,000 books distributed annually, our organization has made great strides in addressing these matters. We hope to do MORE, and with your help, we CAN!

So, in the spirit of the childhood authors who inspired you, the celebrity philanthropists who may have benefited you (rest in peace, marvelous ), and the non-profit agencies who aim to serve you (OCFS), become the hero you once imagined.

This is a contracted transportation service opportunity—not an employment position.

As always, Orangeburg County First Steps is present and engaged in anything that improves our services. Yesterday, our Lead Parent Educator, Sheree Porter, along with fellow Parent Educator, Deborah Allison, attended the Children's Trust of South Carolina's annual Building Hope for Children Conference. In this moment, they weren't just Parent Educators; they were eager learners. OCFS applauds you 👏!

Did you know that two nickels equal a dime? Two dimes and one nickel equal a quarter? Four quarters equal... a dollar?!

Trivial information, we know. However, we want to demonstrate how seemingly SMALL things can make a HUGE impact. Just like our children demonstrate every day, big things come in small packages.

So, the next time you question if your nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollars mean anything, remember that every little thing adds up. If we, as a community, bring what we have together, we can make the biggest impact of all. So, come have a seat at our table, and let's give together!
