Twenty-five children ages 7–12 and their parents from our four founding congregations joined us for a special family volunteer event at the IFPO! The afternoon gave the children an opportunity to volunteer, learn about food insecurity in our community, and experience the IFPO’s operations firsthand.

The children rotated through three hands-on stations: 📦 Sorting donated food and supplies.🥫 Packing boxes of shelf-stable food for our drive-up neighbors.🥛 Packing snack bags with milk boxes, cereal, granola bars, and shelf-stable yogurt they brought to donate.

We are so grateful to these young volunteers and their parents for giving their time and energy to help our food-insecure neighbors. The afternoon was a wonderful opportunity to learn about giving back and how we treat everyone who comes to the IFPO with dignity and respect. 🍊🧡

New Jersey's voter registration deadline is October 13, just one week from today. Checking to see if your voter registration is up to date is so important so that you can elect lawmakers that will help those families facing hunger.

Right now, more than 1.2 million people in New Jersey face food insecurity. Many of our neighbors are also facing significant cuts to federal anti-hunger programs like SNAP — or losing access entirely — as their costs of groceries and other essentials continue to rise. Ensuring that our New Jersey neighbors know where their next meal is coming from will take all of us joining together.

That's why checking to see if your voter registration is up to date today is so important. It only takes a minute to check your registration at https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/registration-check.
