Weather Preparedness Update | Baldwin County Communities

At Community Senior Life, the safety and well-being of our residents and team members is always our highest priority.

As we closely monitor Tropical Storm Isaias and its potential impact on the Alabama Gulf Coast, we have begun implementing our Emergency Preparedness Plan at our Baldwin County communities:

Our leadership teams are actively preparing our communities, reviewing emergency procedures, assessing supplies and staffing needs, and taking appropriate precautions to ensure we are prepared as weather conditions develop.

The latest National Weather Service briefing indicates the potential for significant impacts to our area later this week, including strong winds, heavy rainfall, flash flooding, storm surge, and possible tornadoes. Tropical storm-force winds could arrive as early as Friday morning or afternoon.

Most importantly, our focus is our residents. We are taking proactive steps now to protect their safety, maintain continuity of care and services, and ensure our teams are prepared to respond should conditions change.

We will continue monitoring information from the National Weather Service, local emergency management officials, and other authorities and will adjust our response as necessary.

We encourage our residents’ families to follow our social media pages for updates. Should any significant operational changes become necessary, we will communicate directly with residents and families.

Preparation is one of the most important things we can do before severe weather arrives—and our teams are preparing now.

At Community Senior Life, we believe quality senior living means caring for the whole person. That’s why we are pleased to announce a new partnership with Integrated Behavioral Health, IBH to expand access to mental and behavioral health services for our residents.

Through this partnership, eligible residents can receive behavioral health services right within their CSL community—helping remove barriers to care and providing additional support when residents and families need it most.

The IBH care model can include:
• Psychiatric care, including routine visits and medication management
• Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner support for ongoing care and follow-up
• Social Work services as part of the resident’s care team
• Support for concerns including anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, sleep disturbances, mood disorders, memory-related concerns, and behavioral changes
• On-call behavioral health providers for additional support when a mental health crisis arises
• IBH also offers services including cognitive behavioral therapy, medication management, memory care, and trauma therapy.

For older adults, changes in health, independence, relationships, memory, or living environment can sometimes bring new emotional challenges. Having behavioral health professionals available where our residents live allow us to provide another layer of support while helping residents maintain dignity, stability, and quality of life.

This partnership reflects our continued commitment to finding meaningful ways to enhance the services available to the residents and families we are privileged to serve.

Community Senior Life has on-site therapy services available to residents whose physicians recommend physical or occupational therapy.

Having therapy available on-site means residents can stay consistent with their recovery or strength-building goals without the added stress of transportation or scheduling around outside appointments. It is one more way we support health and independence in daily life.

This week, Community Senior Life is proud to join assisted living communities across the country in celebrating National Assisted Living Week, September 13–19.

The 2026 theme, “Shining Through the Years,” beautifully reflects what we believe makes assisted living so special—the people we have the privilege to serve.

Every resident who calls a Community Senior Life community home brings with them a lifetime of experiences, accomplishments, relationships, lessons, and stories. Our responsibility is not simply to provide care. It is to know the person behind those stories and provide the support that allows each resident to continue living with dignity, independence, purpose, and joy.
