Cat Crew Rescue is a small, all volunteer run rescue focusing on homeless cats/kittens in Bergen County, New Jersey. We do what we can with limited resources and a small group of fosters to help as many cats as possible live happy and healthy lives. We believe that together we can make a difference. Cat Crew Rescue is active in TNR, Trap, Neuter and Release, and promotes all communities to participate in this humane and effective assistance for feral cats.

I took a much-needed break for just a couple of hours and went to my favorite nursery to buy some flowers to plant in my yard. They have several working cats that live in and out. They are big and beautiful Main Coone pure breads that they got many years ago. All of them are older cats now, but I love to see them living their best lives when I go there. I wish more places would embrace having working cats. It’s a win-win.! Here is one of them sitting at the register making sure no one’s cutting in line! Lol

Happy Tail: Our sweet Bumble the last in his litter was adopted! We are so excited for Bumble who joins three other felines, two adopted from us! Delilah was living in a local backyard where she was having litter after litter of kittens. The homeowner reached out to the municipal shelter as well as every rescue she could find, not for help getting the kittens adopted, nor for free spay services but for assistance trapping mama. They had bought a trap to trap mama, but she wouldn't go in it despite numerous attempts. The homeowner was at a loss. The homeowner was able to trap all the kittens, get them vetted and find them homes. Why the shelter wouldn't help them is anyone's guess! It was an easy fix. Finally, she found us. I asked her how she found us, and she told me she asked AI. And AI recommended Cat Crew Rescue! lol She had never heard of us. Although she is in Bergen County, she is in the opposite end of the county. One of our wonderful trappers went out, set up the drop trap, showed her how to use it and she trapped mama within a few hours. The homeowner couldn’t believe it. She was trying for years! Mama was spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and ear-tipped. After she recuperated with us for a week, we returned her to her home. Delilah is a very lucky feral girl. The homeowners adore her and purchased her this wonderful heated shelter. They wish she would decide to give up her feral ways. Happy and safe life Delilah. This is the surviving kitten from the mama and kittens rescued on Monday. Sadly the second kitten died yesterday after a week of struggling to survive. We tried everything. We gave it subQ fluids, we were feeding around the clock, we started her on antibiotics. She got a B12 shot, and she was in the incubator as Mama kept tossing her aside. I am certain the two kittens that passed were born with some congenital abnormality as they were so underdeveloped compared to this sibling that is big, robust and healthy. Whatever it was, there was nothing that could be done to save them. The last one hung on a little longer, but nature had other plans for it, and Mama kne.w.bit. Although it breaks my heart and it’s difficult to lose a kitten you’ve worked with, I know that’s just life. And this kitten got to experience seven days of life as she knew it. She stretched and purred and enjoyed being touched. And that little bit had meaning.

Good morning! This sweet little nugget is waking up to a better day. Rescued on Friday when she came marching out of the bushes when she heard us walking by. With her eyes crusted shut, she said save me, here I am. She is the epitome of a survivor. She is why her species has survived. Good morning and Happy Sunday.

After I cleaned her eyes and got her settled, I made a bottle to feed her. She was starving and latched righ onto the ni**le. Often kittens have trouble latching onto a synthetic ni**le. The Miracle Ni**le is the only one that actually works. The ni**les that come with the baby bottles are much too big and a kitten no matter how big will not latch onto it. This little girl has had no trouble eating every few hours.

After her eyes were cleaned, I put in a little bit of Terramycin Antibiotic Ointment to help clear the infection. This was yesterday and her eyes are already so much better.
