Ovelia has been recuperating from a broken leg as well as having several wounds that needed healing. She has spent the last two weeks in a crate except for the time spent in my arms; however, she has been eager to run around and explore a bit. So today, I gave her time out of the crate to get a little exercise. But, shhhhhh, don't tell her doctor! lol Ovelia loved it and ran around and climbed like there was nothing wrong with her leg. Ovelia was rescued two weeks ago in a dire state, with wounds filled with maggots. And look at her now......

Ovelia and McAdams were rescued a few days from each other. Both in dire condition. Both a few hours from death. Ater they were stabilized, I decided to put them together to recuperate. Both were eager for the company of another cat. Ovelia needs crate rest as she is healing from a broken leg. Sitting in a crate alone can be a bit lonely. But having a kitty friend to share a crate with makes the time pass quicker. Ovelia and McAdams were instant friends. Here they are eating together.

It is one week since we rescued McAdams, and he looks like a different cat. McAdams has doubled his weight in just seven days. He is feeling so much better and has even started to play a bit. McAdams was severely malnourished and dehydrated when we rescued him; so much so, he couldn't stand up and the vet was unable to get a drop of blood from him for a FIV/FeLV snap test. A week of TLC, good nutrition, hydration and lots of love has gotten McAdams feeling so much better. This sweet boy is starting to understand that life is good! I am certain that without intervention, McAdams was just a few hours from death. Now he is on his way to a wonderful life.

Yesterday we brought Hudson to be neutered, vaccinated, ear-tipped and microchipped. He was also treated for URI and conjunctivitis. Hudson was trapped on Sunday, when our wonderful volunteer Angie was on her way to feed the cats at the Industrial Colony and she stopped at a construction site to look for this cat. Hudson was spotted a few months ago when Angie spotted some cats starving at a construction site on a very busy road. She stopped and fed them and one by one she has stopped and trapped them. Hudson was the last cat she had identified but had not seen any of the times she went back to get him. Sunday he was sitting there waiting and very eagerly walked into the trap for a meal. We have removed all of the cats from that site. One was placed in a foster home and is up for adoption and others were relocated to a safer location. We will evaluate Hudson while he is with us recuperating before making a plan for him. However, Hudson will not be returning to that location.

Meet Clove! Clove is a very beautiful five year old gray tabby male who is ever so gentle. He is an "owner surrender" because his humans in their words their life got "too complicated" and for that his whole world was turned up side down. It took him a few days to settle into his foster home, but now his true personality is starting to shine through. He is loving and affectionate. He is quiet and neat. He gets along with other cats or can be an only cat. He likes to play, but more so enjoys being with his humans or basking in the sun by a window. Diana & Jim are CCR adopters and supporters and recently have been making us AMAZING shelters and feeding stations. We have been revamping all our colonies with better structures that help the cats live better lives and it helps keep the colonies neat and clean for the community. Making community cat colonies neat, clean and aesthetically appealing helps with community acceptance. Also feeding shelters, like this one, provide shade and shelter from the elements while the cats are eating. By raising the feeding platform off the ground, it also provides better protection from dampness and bugs. I can't thank Diana and Jim enough for all their hard work, concern and dedication to our cats. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

One Dot, Two Dot & Three Dot will be at our Adoption Event this Sunday, August 30th at Pet Supplies Plus in Hillsdale, NJ from 11 to 2. They are sweet, they are loving and beautiful.
