School's out for the NJ Teachers' Convention, but the fun is just beginning at
Whittemore – Community, Culture & Conservation!

Trade screen time for green time and join us for our Day Off Camp, where nature becomes the classroom and every adventure brings something new to discover!

From outdoor exploration to hands-on activities, it's a wonderful opportunity for children to connect with nature, spark their curiosity, make new friends, and enjoy the beauty of Whittemore in the fall.

📍 Whittemore – Community, Culture & Conservation

Join John for an immersive experience delving into the world of locally sourced clay. Students will explore local clay history, as well as learning methods for finding, identifying, harvesting, refining, and utilizing clay from your surroundings. Discover the chemistry and science behind refining local clay, along with testing for usability. Dive into discussions on methodologies and aesthetics, covering material manipulation, form, firing, and finish. And then walk the grounds of Whittemore to harvest clay for your own piece.

A wonderful opportunity to explore your own creativity and connect with the art of ceramics!

And don't forget, John's exhibition, GROUNDED, remains on view in our Galleries through November 8.

This Saturday, October 24th at 1:00 PM, we invite you to slow down, reconnect, and experience the restorative power of nature with Linda Brown-Kuhn for our Fall Forest Bathing experience.

🌳 Through gentle movement, mindfulness, and sensory exploration, Linda will guide you on a peaceful journey through Whittemore's beautiful woodlands — an opportunity to unplug, breathe deeply, and simply be.

✨ No experience necessary. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to embrace the moment.
