1953 photo of Kings Highway School at 5176 Chestnut St., Zionsville, Upper Milford Township, PA. The brick school, built in 1952, had eight classrooms and drew students from the Dillinger School. It was closed in 2005 and is now the Upper Milford Municipal Center. The "OLd Dutch Beer" sign was at the time of the photo advertised beer produced in Catasauqua by Eagle Brewery.

We had a great afternoon, despite the weather, honoring our Upper Milford Veterans. Beginning at 1 pm with the color guard from Emmaus and ending at 4 with the folding ceremony of the flag, it was a day focused on honoring and highlighting those whose bravery and sacrifices contribute to the security of our country. Highlights of the day included the slide show, which many people sat through several times to be sure they saw all their family members; the framed photos in our hallway, which change every few months; and the home-baked cookies!

Representatives from Rep. Mackenzie's and Sen. Coleman's offices were in attendance, and had a lot uf useful information for veterans and seniors who attended. On display around the room were military uniforms, letters from soldiers, and other military artifacts that had been donated representing both peace and conflicts throughout the years.
