You do not have to be the most knowledgeable Mason in the room. 😯

You do not have to know every word of the ritual, hold the highest office, wear the most impressive apron, or have decades of membership behind your name. 😮

But you should be trying to become a better man than the one who first knocked at the door.🤩

Be a little more patient. A little slower to anger. More willing to listen. More dependable when someone needs you. More charitable in your judgment of another man’s faults—and more demanding in the examination of your own. 🧐

The lessons of Freemasonry were never intended merely to be memorized. They were meant to be practiced. 😎

There is a difference between belonging to a Lodge and being part of a Lodge.

A name on the roll makes us members. Showing up, checking on a Brother, helping with the work, welcoming a new Mason, listening to an older one, and giving something of ourselves makes us part of something greater.

Freemasonry was never intended to be experienced alone. Its lessons may be personal, but its strength has always been found in fellowship—in men of different ages, backgrounds, and experiences meeting upon common ground and choosing to build together.

None of us will be here forever. The chairs we occupy will someday belong to other men. What matters is what we leave in those chairs when we rise from them: stronger friendships, better traditions, good examples, and a Lodge worth inheriting.

The strength of a Lodge is not measured by how many names are on its roll, but by how many Brothers know they have a place within its walls.

If it’s been a while since you’ve been to Emmaus Lodge, come back. Don’t worry about how long it’s been, whether you remember every word, or whether you feel like you need an explanation for your absence. Life has a way of pulling us in different directions, and sometimes the hardest part is simply walking through the door again. The handshakes will still be there. The fellowship will still be there.

And among the Brethren, there’s always a seat for the Brother who returns.

Every Mason inherits a work already begun.

The stones were being laid long before we arrived, shaped by Brothers whose names we may never know. Our responsibility is not to finish the Temple—it is to labor faithfully during the time entrusted to us, add our stone well, and leave the work stronger for those who follow.

The work continues. The Craft endures.

WHEN NO ONE KNOWS

There are good deeds that will never be announced at a meeting.

There are Brothers who quietly help another without anyone knowing.

There are promises kept when breaking them would have been easier.

There are temptations resisted, tempers controlled, apologies offered, burdens carried, and responsibilities accepted without recognition or applause.

Freemasonry places great value upon the reputation of a good man.

But it places an even greater responsibility upon his character.

Because reputation is what others believe you to be.

Character is what you are when there is no audience to convince.

And some of the most important Masonic work a man will ever perform will be known only to himself and to God.

If you encounter a fraudulent PA Grand Lodge page, report it to Facebook!

There has again been an uptick in pages claiming to be the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania and attempting to sell official merchandise.

We encourage you to be vigilant about what you’re sharing and purchasing online. Unfortunately, once a purchase has been made from a fraudulent seller, there is nothing the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania can do to recoup the funds.
