Here in Okeechobee County, This is what we do to confiscated drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Once an investigation is complete - our Crime Scene Unit along with Deputies from the Okeechobee County Sheriffs Office partake in Narcotics Burns - Safely and securely to ensure drugs remain off the streets.

This special unit burns at a high temperature and produces filtered smoke that is not harmful to surrounding individuals and the environment.

Your partnership has enriched the summer camp experience for so many local students and provided the opportunity for the OCSO team to teach valuable life skills while creating lasting memories through fun and engaging activities.

We would also like to recognize and thank our dedicated OCSO School Resource Officers, FWC Officers, team members, and volunteers who invested their time, energy, and passion into making this program a success. Your commitment to mentoring, teaching, and encouraging our campers helped create a safe, fun, and unforgettable summer experience.

Administrative Office Closure Notice

The Administrative Offices of the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office will be closed on the following dates and times:

• Monday, June 22, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Monday, June 29, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
•
During these times, our Administrative Offices will be unavailable. However, Dispatch and 911 Operations will remain fully staffed and operating as normal to serve the community.

Deputy Burrell is one tough Deputy!

At a recent OJLS Leadership Event, Deputy Burrell voluntarily participated in a Taser Deployment Showcase for The Economic Development Council Junior Leaders Summer Camp.

We’d like to add - No one asked. This wasn’t Scheduled. It was her idea. She just wanted to take one for the team, just for the kids!

The Okeechobee Junior Leadership Camp sponsored by Okeechobee County Economic Development Corporation visited our Okeechobee County Sheriffs Office and Okeechobee County Fire Rescue today.

These Junior Leaders heard from Sheriff Noel Stephen, Major Michael Hazellief, Fire Chief Justin Hazellief, Corporal Matt Huffman, and Gabriel Gonzalez of our Cadet Program.

Not only were our Junior Leaders tuned in and learning through every experience with Deputies, CAT Team, K9, and Fire Rescue, they were tuned in and asking impressive and insightful questions of our leaders today. These junior leaders have a bright future, and we can’t wait to see them grow into the impressive adults we know they will become.
