4-H Rally at the Georgia National Fair

Eight 4-H’ers along with Mrs. Gina enjoyed the annual 4-H Rally at the Georgia National Fair in Perry today. We attended the 4-H Rally, toured the 4-H exhibits, visited with several of our 4-H’ers participating in the Livestock Show, toured several buildings, saw friends, and had an amazing day! And, we will do it again in 2027!

During National 4-H Week, we donated items for our “Toiletry drive”. These items were donated to Family Connections-of Irwin County. Mrs. Shirley Edwards, Executive Director for Irwin County Family Connection, Inc, picked up the donated items on October 13th, 2026. Thank you to all who donated.

Back on April 8th, 2026, members from the Home School Club buried a pair of Hanes underwear to learn how cotton will decompose in the soil. The Hanes underwear was dug up on October 14th, 2026, during our club meeting. Totally amazing!

Our Home School Club had a guest speaker, Russ James with James Irrigation Repair, talking about irrigation in agriculture. Mr. Russ talked with the club members about advantages of irrigation in agriculture and brought equipment pieces to show as used on pivots. Thank you to Mr. Russ and his family for an amazing time learning about irrigation.

Thank you to all who sold or purchased Coca-Cola products! Pizza Party invitations were given out along with 4-H forms needed back by October 19th to Mrs. Gina.

We have EXTRA Coca-Cola products on hand if anyone is interested. Coca-Cola products are $26 per case and Smart Water is $28 per case. Thank you for supporting Irwin County 4-H.
