Scouts in Irwin County Troop 832 enjoyed a week at Camp Jackson Sawyer in Big Pine Key, Fl. Scouts snorkeled at the infamous Looe Key Coral Reef, reef fished for a variety of sea fish and traveled down to the southernmost point of the continental United States.

Scouts achieved several merit badges which includes oceanography, astromony, art, snorkeling, fishing, salesmanship and photography.

Scouts too joined together for a beach cleanup project at Camp Sawyer that measured approximately one mile of beach front. Scouts removed around 150 pounds of debris including nets, ropes, and plastic trash. Troop 832 scouts encourages everyone to reduce, reuse and recycle whenever they can, especially plastics.

Many of you supported this adventure by buying scout coffee, purchasing a cake from or baking a cake for the Troop’s Mother’s Day bake sale, donating financially, encouraging and praying for the Troop while they traveled round-trip 1,262 miles to camp and back. Scout leaders and scouts of Troop 832 thanks you all for your dedication to the Irwin County Boy Scout Troop 832.
