Creating lasting change for young children takes more than individual effort. It requires strong partnerships, shared accountability, and a commitment to working across sectors. As a member of the Connecticut Cradle to Career Coalition, Norwalk ACTS invites advocates, educators, early childhood providers, family leaders, healthcare professionals, funders, and policymakers to join us for a statewide conversation on advancing kindergarten readiness for every child in Connecticut.

This year's convening, Collaboratively Working for Kindergarten Readiness in Connecticut, offers a unique opportunity to learn from leading experts, connect with changemakers from across the state, and explore strategies that strengthen outcomes for children and families.

The morning will feature a keynote address by Dr. Ronald Ferguson, Founding Executive Director of The Basics Inc., followed by a panel discussion focused on what's working, where challenges remain, and how collective action can accelerate progress.

Join us for Impact in Focus, Norwalk ACTS' signature collective impact fundraising event, on Thursday, November 19, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at HMTX in Norwalk.

This special evening will bring together community leaders, partners, advocates, and supporters who believe every child and young person deserves the opportunity to thrive. Together, we'll celebrate the power of collective action and invest in the partnerships, shared goals, and community-driven solutions that help create pathways to success from early childhood through career.

Our featured guest performer, Jeremiah "Jermaine" Paul—known to many as "Pastor J"—is a vocalist, minister, and community builder now serving as pastor of Golden Hill United Methodist Church in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Before ministry, he sang with Alicia Keys on her Grammy-nominated single "Diary," earned two Grammy nominations, and won Season 2 of NBC's The Voice.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our September Quarterly Convening at Stepping Stones Museum earlier this week. We are grateful to Kelley Tomlinson of the Norwalk Health Department, and members of the Norwalk Crisis Response Team for sharing their insights on the collaborative development of Norwalk's postvention response team and the systems-level work underway to strengthen mental health and wellness across our community.

As always, our convenings are an opportunity to learn from one another, strengthen connections, and continue to strategically design opportunities that significantly improve outcomes for children, youth, and families. Save the date for our next Convening on December 8.
