We are one week away from Christine Brainard's first GFC Golf Marathon⛳

Christine is taking on her first-ever 100-hole day as part of Team Cancer Sucks, a family team founded by her brother, Tim, that has grown over the past four years to include Christine, her husband, Doug, her cousin and his wife, and a close family friend. Because, unfortunately, cancer impacts us all!

Christine is participating in memory of her beloved mother, Carol, who passed away from liver cancer in 2023. Honoring her memory and carrying forward the compassion she showed others has become a powerful motivation for Christine’s Golf Marathon journey.

Together, Team Cancer Sucks is raising funds for Marisa's Mission to help ensure that families facing cancer don’t have to worry about financial hardship while navigating one of the most difficult times in their lives.

By playing 100 holes in one day, Christine is turning love, loss, and gratitude into action, helping provide hope, relief, and support to families who need it most.

For an incredible 18th year, Glenn Kelly is once again taking on the challenge of playing 100 holes in one day at Golf Fights Cancer’s Golf Marathon, fueled by gratitude, purpose, and the remarkable community that has helped him raise nearly $300,000 for families affected by cancer 💚⛳

This year, Glenn is playing in memory of his dear friend, Barbara Cook, who passed away six years ago from pancreatic cancer. Barbara had a rare way about her, deeply devoted to her family, endlessly kind to friends and strangers alike, and often the first to step up when someone needed support. Her memory continues to inspire Glenn’s commitment to making a difference for others facing this disease.

As Glenn shared, he remains motivated to raise as much as possible for “families who are facing far tougher days than a retired golf pro attempting another 100 holes.”

Please join us in supporting Glenn’s 2026 Golf Marathon campaign in honor of Barbara and the many special individuals he has played for over the last 18 years. To learn more and donate, visit https://secure.qgiv.com/event/negolfmarathon/account/2225769/ 💚

Eight Golf Marathons. One incredible mission. ⛳💚

Returning for their 8th year, Bill McHugh and his fundraising partner and caddie, his son Will, continue to embody what it means to be part of the GFC Family. Inspired years ago by young marathoner Ryan McGuire, Bill has turned their love of golf into a powerful way to give back to families facing cancer.

Together, they’ve raised more than $120,000 through the Golf Marathon and continue to inspire their community through generosity, compassion, and purpose.

“As ambassadors for GFC, our family is able to use our passion to give to others what has been given to us in so many ways.”

Support Bill & Will as they take on another 100 holes to make a difference for patients and families affected by cancer.

One extraordinary legacy 💚

The 10th Good Guys Good Gals Invitational is, and always will be, about Ellie Kavalieros. This day is a reflection of who she was: joyful, strong, and deeply loved.

Last Friday, we gathered at The Yards not only to celebrate Ellie, but to carry her legacy forward with purpose.

Because of this amazing community, funds raised from The Ellie are supporting groundbreaking research dedicated to changing the future of DIPG, bringing hope to families facing this devastating disease today and those who will face it in the years ahead.

From an unforgettable day on the course to a night filled with music, delicious food, connection, laughter, and meaning, GFC, the Kavalieros family, and the Ellie Community continue to show what’s possible when people come together for something greater than themselves.

Ellie’s impact is lasting. Her legacy is moving this fight forward. And this community is making sure of it. 💚

20 runners from across the country. One powerful purpose. Nearly $730,000 raised.

To our runners, thank you for turning months of training, sacrifice, and purpose into life-changing impact. A special shoutout to our captain, Brian Oates, leading the collective efforts while crossing the Boston Marathon finish line for the 30th time!

And to the 2,300+ donors who believed in this team, thank you. Your generosity made this impact possible.

To the Boston Athletic Association and Bank of America, thank you for the opportunity to be part of such a storied race and for making it possible for Golf Fights Cancer to raise critical funding through the 2026 Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program in support of so many affected by cancer.

Because of all of you, this campaign was about more than a race. It was about the power of community and hope 💚

Tomorrow, 20 runners will step to the start line of the 130th Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America, each carrying something far greater than the miles ahead.

They run for parents, children, spouses, friends, and family members. They run in memory. In honor. In hope. They run for the moments, the memories, and the people cancer can never take away.

Through every early morning, every long run, and every dollar raised, their purpose has never wavered: to change lives and stand up for those who have been affected by cancer.

On the eve of Marathon Monday, we honor the loved ones who have inspired every step of this journey - and who will be felt in every stride to Boylston Street.

Meet Brian Oates (Oatsie to many), the proud captain of Team GFC 2026 💚

On Monday, Oatsie will be standing at the starting line of the Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America for the 30th time!

Although he quickly points out that he has achieved ‘zero wins’ on Marathon Monday, his fellow runners and the tens of thousands of cancer patients he has supported through his efforts would beg to differ!

A member of the Boston Marathon Quarter Century Club and a two-time Boston Marathon Top Fundraiser, Oatise has been instrumental in GFC reaching the incredible milestone of surpassing $6 million raised through the iconic race, including a team total of nearly $675,000 this year.

There is still time to support Brian and help Team GFC “Win The Day” on Marathon Monday 💛💙 Visit https://www.givengain.com/project/brian-raising-funds-for-golf-fights-cancer-112480 or scan the QR code for Brian’s 2026 campaign, titled “Boston Marathon #30 - Can I Finally Win This Thing?”
