A tremendous IMPACT UPDATE!

$175,000 for glioblastoma research. One powerful example of what happens when a community comes together to make a difference 💚

Last week, members of the Golf Fights Cancer community had the privilege of visiting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to present $175,000 to the Center for Neuro-Oncology in support of cutting-edge glioblastoma research.

This funding represents the extraordinary efforts of the loving communities of Dan Warn, Gary Golz, Kyle Smith, and Brian Lennon. Family and friends united by a shared determination to create hope and progress in honor and memory of those they love.

Through the 2026 Boston Marathon, 2026 GFC Golf Marathon, and inaugural Burn the Ships Golf Tournament, these communities transformed miles run, holes played, and countless generous gifts into meaningful investment in research for one of the most aggressive and challenging forms of cancer.

A special thank you to the junior golfers from Team Dan who joined us at DFCI to meet with Dr. Gilbert Youssef and learn more about the latest advances in glioblastoma research, and the very real impact their efforts, and those of the entire GFC community, are helping make possible.

Since 2016, Golf Fights Cancer has invested more than $1.5 million in glioblastoma research at DFCI's Center for Neuro-Oncology, helping fuel advancements in treatment and HOPE for improved outcomes.

In honor. In memory. In hope. And always, in action. 💚

Burn the Ships ⛳️ No retreat. No turning back. Total commitment.

The 1st Annual Burn the Ships Golf Tournament The Golf Club of Amelia Island was a powerful tribute to Dan Warn's legacy, bringing together family, friends, and classmates for a day rooted in courage, commitment, and hope.

Together, this incredible community raised nearly $70,000 for The Warn Family Fund at the Center for Neuro-Oncology, helping Dan's physicians at Dana-Farber continue their pursuit of life-saving advances in the fight against glioblastoma.

To everyone who played, sponsored, donated, volunteered, and showed up, Thank You for carrying Dan's "all in" spirit forward. Your generosity is creating hope for patients and families facing one of the deadliest forms of cancer.

A special shout-out to the amazing Event Committee: Aaron McCullough, Jeb Honeyman, Tim Kruger, Ned Nurick, and Tony Burgess, and the 17 members of the West Point Class of '96 who attended to honor the legacy of their beloved classmate.

Tomorrow, Tom Beusse will tee it up for his second Golf Fights Cancer Golf Marathon, more than 20 years after completing his first 100-hole challenge in 2005. 💚⛳

This year, Tom is dedicating his Golf Marathon to the memory of his beloved sister, Patti, who passed away from cancer in 2016.

"I am partnering with Red Door Community in this year's GFC Golf Marathon for my 'Big Sister,' Patti, and for her husband, children, and all of us who have ever felt the brutality of cancer. I am doing it in the hope that greater awareness will result in more funding and research in the fight for a cure, and to support the critical assistance and support that Door Community provides to cancer patients and their families at their time of need."

After two decades away from the event, Tom is once again proving that the Golf Marathon is about much more than golf. It's about honoring loved ones, supporting families facing cancer, and turning personal loss into meaningful impact.

Please join us in supporting Tom's campaign in memory of Patti. To learn more and donate, visit https://secure.qgiv.com/event/negolfmarathon/account/2325541/

Meet first-time Golf Marathoner Mia Lombardi 💚⛳

As a competitive high school golfer and member of the Trinity College Women’s Golf Team, Mia has found that golf has become a source of purpose, strength, and community in her life. This year, she’s using that passion to make a difference through her first Golf Fights Cancer Golf Marathon.

Mia is participating in honor of her brother, Dominic, who was diagnosed with leukemia in 2016 as a freshman in high school. Nearly 10 years later, Dominic continues to face the long-term effects of cancer treatment, inspiring Mia every day with his strength, resilience, and determination.

Having witnessed the impact of cancer firsthand, Mia is turning her love of golf into action, raising funds to support families facing the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.

We are one week away from Christine Brainard's first GFC Golf Marathon⛳

Christine is taking on her first-ever 100-hole day as part of Team Cancer Sucks, a family team founded by her brother, Tim, that has grown over the past four years to include Christine, her husband, Doug, her cousin and his wife, and a close family friend. Because, unfortunately, cancer impacts us all!

Christine is participating in memory of her beloved mother, Carol, who passed away from liver cancer in 2023. Honoring her memory and carrying forward the compassion she showed others has become a powerful motivation for Christine’s Golf Marathon journey.

Together, Team Cancer Sucks is raising funds for Marisa's Mission to help ensure that families facing cancer don’t have to worry about financial hardship while navigating one of the most difficult times in their lives.

By playing 100 holes in one day, Christine is turning love, loss, and gratitude into action, helping provide hope, relief, and support to families who need it most.

For an incredible 18th year, Glenn Kelly is once again taking on the challenge of playing 100 holes in one day at Golf Fights Cancer’s Golf Marathon, fueled by gratitude, purpose, and the remarkable community that has helped him raise nearly $300,000 for families affected by cancer 💚⛳

This year, Glenn is playing in memory of his dear friend, Barbara Cook, who passed away six years ago from pancreatic cancer. Barbara had a rare way about her, deeply devoted to her family, endlessly kind to friends and strangers alike, and often the first to step up when someone needed support. Her memory continues to inspire Glenn’s commitment to making a difference for others facing this disease.

As Glenn shared, he remains motivated to raise as much as possible for “families who are facing far tougher days than a retired golf pro attempting another 100 holes.”

Please join us in supporting Glenn’s 2026 Golf Marathon campaign in honor of Barbara and the many special individuals he has played for over the last 18 years. To learn more and donate, visit https://secure.qgiv.com/event/negolfmarathon/account/2225769/ 💚
